I liked crime boss but I won't deny it has problems. For example, you will never win your first or your second run simply because you are missing the "Slow down sheriff" buffs. I get that's the point of rougelikes, running the run multiple times and getting new stuff but it can be annoying at the start, especially since you won't have many good team members or soldiers. It has a smarter AI than I would have ever guessed and holy shit! They're useful instealth to move bags and control civs! And they can even carry 2 bags, by default!!

Crime Boss for me, is a 6/10, so bad it's so good game, where you can tell that the script was written in polish/lithuanian and then translated in google translate. Pure 80/90s cornyness.

as for Raid WW2
it's always been kinda meh but the MUG, I mean, the Sidetracked Devs are clearly passionate and even despite the game having 0 players, they still pump out major updates and new content. Gotta respect that, even if the content is middling, but there's only so much you can do by reusing character lines and models.

I jumped from Mayhem to Death Wish recently (2500 hours btw) and the difference is mostly DW brings out everything I hate about the game more.
Mayhem is mostly a breeze and that's what I want.

Yeah, the Rougelike mode (the main mode) is singleplayer only. The multiplayer just has you play essentially the same missions but freely and with players. Not necessary unless you're going for the 100% like I did and even then, you can just farm the Gold Cup for levels.

The zombie horde mode is really fun!

It gets easier with time, hell if you want to experience everything in a single run, you kinda have to gimp yourself and play it slowly. For example, I reached a point where I could end a rougelike campaign in less than 3 days, so I could never experience the major heists unless I halted my conquest and allowed them to spawn.

I think you're just a level of pro I'm not. Again Mayhem is as far as I've taken it and even that sometimes feels like a giant pain in the ass. But then there's Overkill which sometimes feels like a good time to open a book or make a cup of tea. I haven't run sociopath with the zerker perks and perhaps that's where I'm going wrong. I just like getting health back for every melee kill. But after Mayhem I'm not doing enough damage to make the melee worth it.

Hacker. Press 3 and you will stun half the fucking map. Gain health and dogdge every kill. About as busted as you can imagine. Play IZHMA and HE Judge and you're set. Literal easy mode.

Rouge works fine, but you don't gain many tangible bonuses from it.

I really like sicario, the smoke grants very good dodge when I need objectives and it's even more dodge if there are enemies inside the smoke too. The armour recharges every sucessful dodge so if you're loco enough, you can run intermediate armours for added bonuses, since it's not reliant on having sneaky bastard.

The best they could've done is simplified it back to five difficulties
Normal, Hard, Overkill, Mayhem and Death Wish, kind of how Deep Rock Galactic has five difficulties (or hazards), Haz1-2 being for Noobs, Haz 3-4 being the baseline for most players and Haz 5 and 5+ being for the more experienced.
I've been playing with the following mod as of late and it really shows that you can have a more difficult and engaging difficulty without having to resort to bullshit like no damage falloff.

I'm pretty sure lore and gameplay-wise, the Payday gang shitstomps most of the R6 Siege counterterrorists considering they've already went up against Murkywater and ZEAL, which are comparable to the special forces units of Rainbow.

Payday 2 did not get as much content in 2 years as 3 did. Keep in mind that 2 reused the small bank map for multiple heists and afaik the armored transport heist maps were just reused failed escape maps. Sure seeded RNG is kinda cheesy but stealth is already generally more time consuming than loud, it doesn't invalidate guards and whatever other mechanics.

Payday 2 launched in 2013
by 2015 it had recieved about 50 updates
with each new DLC introducing new heists, new characters, guns and various masks and patterns. And free shit for everyone.
for comparison, PD3 has recieved 46 BLOG updates a LOT less actual updates. Year 2 was like, what, 3 DLCs? One of which is Jacket.

3 having public/private/restricted sections is so much better, being able to purposefully distract guards in private areas or nab key cards off their belt, anyone being able to easily hack into the camera system to spot guards for others, ect. there's much more variety, but the big bonus is not having that fuck awful desync 2 has that makes stealth nearly impossible for anyone that isn't the host.
