Why do you still buy games from the fat jew gaben?

If a game cost less than $20 I will buy it, if not I will pirate it. Simple as. No exceptions.

Steam offers a better service. I do still pirate occasionally and will turn to it exclusively if gaben pulls any bullshit like removing my games.
>>
>>724047938
Good luck cracking modern Denuvo game in 2025 lol
>>
>>724048446
Not really. Piracy offers you the game+additional content for free, anonymous as you don't need an account with credit card info, playable 24/7 on every device you own right now or will own in future, can decide to skip specific updates to avoid "balance patches" or censorship, and for some mp games there are ways to play online if you are into that.
>>
because it's convenient.
>>
>>724048101
Alright, you convince me, I will economically support Valve now
>>
>>724048101
So you pirate games but are upset that retards who only play counter strike for skins got owned by gaben making the monetization more fair? Good bait.

We aren't living in the early 2000s anymore, unfortunately. Direct downloads might sometimes be faster than torrents.

Not about price. It's about quality of service. Steam offers Steam Input, forums, Workshop for some games, achievements if you're into that, Proton for Linux, cloud saves, reinstalling is quicker, and tons of other shit I can't be bothered to type out. Sure, a lot of these work even with pirated copies added to Steam, but some don't and I really don't mind paying to support them and future features. Plus, if Valve goes, whoever replaces them (microsoft, ea, epic, etc) will likely make piracy much harder.
>anonymous
Fair. I don't really mind though.
>playable 24/7 on every device you own right now or will own in future

steamfags are without a hind of irony the biggest suckers in gaming. they pay a lot of money -because they are scammed by sales of games that they never play- for hot air. and all they own is a limited license. even Epic is a better company because guess what: they bring console games to PC like kingdom hearts. Okay, actual underage retard detected. This is what Gabe already did. Before Steam blew up companies and studios shat on PC gaming and wanted it dead while favouring consoles (that includes the epic games boss) because of muh piracy, it even included games that would work much better on PC like first person shooters or diablo clones. Those console games that got PC versions has poor quality inferior ports because PC gamers were considered second class citizens.
After Steam blew up way more games got proper PC versions and the quality of ports increased, even with Japanese games that usually had completely dogshit ports (original pc port of re4 wanted you to use the KEYBOARD without the mouse lol)

>Definitely not. I never cared about in-game achivements let alone off-game ones.

>use Linux without not even bothering to run a Windows VM
What? Have you ever used Linux? Proton is much better than a fucking VM. Basically native performance and quite literally everything runs through it.
>I can just transfer the save files or all the game files. Not being tech illiterate helps.
I also know how to move files from one device to another. Cloud saves and installing from Steam are just simpler and automate the process.
>I wouldn't be so sure about the latter part
Why? Steam has show no indication they'll start banning people or removing games from their libraries anytime soon. If they do, I'll switch to piracy.
>the former is a big "yes, but..."
How? I've never had a situation where I couldn't play my Steam games because the servers were down or whatever.

Obviously not.
>Have you ever used Linux?
Yes, long before Proton was a thing. It's not worth it for games.
>I also know how to move files from one device to another.
Clearly not since you didn't figure out sharing can be done within your network, and that was long before cloud became a thing.
>removing games from their libraries anytime soon
Delisting is already an issue, straight removing a game you bought would be stealing.
>I couldn't play my Steam games because the servers were down
Happened a few days ago
>Yes, for this one situation
For everything really. The fact that your games aren't linked to a third-party online service is already huge because no matter what happens, you can play the game by simply having the files available, nothing more required.

>using windows in current year
If you care about gaming, it's the only true option.

Of course my hard drive with pirated games can theoretically rot, like during a flood, but that's why you have backups and, if you have internet access, it's easy to re-pirate those games again.
You are saying the N word once or Gabe Newell being in a bad mood away from losing access to all "your" games forever.

>I do, and they work for pirated games too.
Fair. Steam input is really powerful. I haven't seen any other remapping tool like it.
>Obviously not
How? I know it's not literally just you, as in you're the only person in the world who doesn't care for achievements, but plenty of people dox and for them, achievements are one reason Steam is better than piracy.
>It's not worth it for games.
I guess it depends on what you value, privacy, ease of use, customization, etc. Linux requires slightly more work, but I value customization so it's 100% worth it for me. Games just work ootb most of the time and the most tweaking I've had to do is maybe use protontricks to download some dependency. The only games that don't work are multiplayerslop with kernel anticheat, but I'm not interested in that anyway.
>sharing can be done within your network
I know. Steam is just simpler because it's already set up and automatic. I could easily set up my own personal cloud save and download server on my NAS if I wanted.
>Delisting is already an issue
It's really not a huge issue. You can still play delisted games if you already owned them, and if not, you can just pirate.
>Happened a few days ago
You mean on tuesday? As part of the weekly scheduled 15-minute maintenance? And you can still play games in offline mode.
>you can play the game by simply having the files available
You can do that with your Steam copies too by using goldberg. And if something happens to Steam, then I'll pirate. If something happens to the entire internet, I've got bigger issues than games.
>Linux is settling for reading wikis and praying somebody else played the game on your specific distro.

do you need to have definitions of words explained to you?
what do you think easier than ever means?
now if a steam game comes out without any drm you replace a single fucking file and have the game cracked

>>724061716
are you living paycheck to paycheck by any chance?

>BOT! BOT! BOT!
Nothing better to say, kek.
It's quite ironic because you sound like a broken record.

I don't care if the game is good because if it has denuvo, it's no longer good.
>>
>>724062548
He doesn't even actually like the game. He only cares about masturbating to Miku.

The devs already got paid. They don't receive any royalties beyond their fixed term contract.
That being said, a better argument for buying games would not be to support the devs but to support the franchises, to say that you want more of this. If it's financially viable, more of your favorite games will be made. Once you realize this, it's easy to justify buying games. Piracy is fine but if you really like the game then it would cost you barely anything to pay for it, giving away money is only a bad thing when you pay for completely dogshit games that set a bad standard (what most normalfags do), but those games are not even worth playing to begin with, let alone buying.
So piracy is useful but it doesn't make much sense for a first worlder in active employment with more money than time. Money was never an issue, time is.

How the fuck do you get an invite to gazellegames? I've got good creds on TL and MAM but can't find an IRC or anywhere to apply for an interview.
>>
>>724063661
this is a retarded argument because publishers CANNOT be trusted to not be extremely myopic. if I have a selfish argument for wanting more of my favorite games to be made, it would be more effective for me to spend the 60$ paying people to shill them.
>>
>>724055907
This is literally less ethical and more illegal than just fucking pirating the game.
>>
>>724064134
>it would be more effective for me to spend the 60$ paying people to shill them.
Onirism gets shilled constantly on /v/ yet has a player count of like 8 pedos. Not a single soul is buying that game because pajeets shill it here. Leave the shilling to megacorpos who can manipulate the algorithm.

I like how you can see who is a pirate who pretend to be one in this thread.
>>
>>724068930
yeah no shit
pirates think they're virtue signalling their intelligence and cunning like piracy is some uber hacker act
in reality they're vice signalling their poverty and ingratitude
>>
>>724071159
it's amazing how buyfags seethe and have to prove themselves to strangers online by bragging about how much they spend on games as if anyone cares
>>
>>724071264
meanwhile the thread was created by an uppity piratenig thinking he's doing some revolutionary and difficult act because he thinks being poor or ungrateful makes him better
pirateniggers are vice signalling vegans
we all can pirate, but you think it makes you special
>>
>>724071678
that's not what the OP was, it looks more like it was designed to bait and enrage buyfags like (You) and it worked
>>
>>724072215
>it was just bait!!! i don't have a completely unfounded superiority complex!!!
