I can afford to drop 20 dollars on instant dopamine from time to time, I can't find the time to drop 20 hours grinding in a game for something because it would probably take me a couple months.

Depends on what the grind is. If it's similar to Bloons Tower Defence 6 where you unlock those grindy towers by doing what you're doing to begin with then it's fine.
