god forbid someone gets a bit of money from putting hundreds of hours into their favorite game. no, only streamer eceleb faggots get to make any money.
>>
You are a dumb faggot for following them and not realizing what you're actually doing.

I mean honestly laughing at people doing something stupid, shouldn't the internet be for more than that?
>>

Imagine pouring thousands of dollars into virtual assets for a game that
>can ban you at any time
>for any reason
>and not tell you why
>has plenty of rules in place that should be banning you from making money from their games
>can be updated at any time with any number of hypothetical features that tank the market

frankly, if you feel you lost out on money because of this, cope seethe mald and stay mad. Video games aren't an investment. They're a hobby. And the sooner you terminally online case-fags fuck off the better we'll all be for it.
>>
>>724054678
They've got no skin in the game, just ignore them lol.
It only makes sense to be speaking about the subject if you have an inventory worth at least a few hundred dollars. These people obviously don't otherwise they'd have a bit of empathy. Personally I'm down a couple hundred which is nothing and I don't care, but I get it.
Skins seemed like a pretty safe place to put your money because of the scarcity. They've been consistently going up for a decade but clearly that's not the case anymore. Valve intends to drop the prices.
You have to have money to lose it and as long as you learn from this experience, it's not a loss.
>>
>I put my life savings into BingusCoin and I got rugpulled, how could this be happening to me!?
>Stop laughing at me, I trusted my favourite eceleb as much as a close friend even though he literally doesn't know I exist!
>>
i was an INVESTOR
i stood by as you released CSGO
i said nothing when you reintroduced it as CS2
i paid my fair share for the CHINESE PUMPERS
i was there when the MARKET CRASHED

I NEVER PLAYED CS AND NOW I NEVER WILL

If you GOT a bit of MONEY then you would KEEP it.
You didn't.
You RENTED a bunch of DATABASE ENTRIES to SPECULATE on.
I'm pretty sure you can't even get knives by playing the game, they all come from opening crates or trading
>>
>>724054678
Videogames as a hobby is consuming media.
They do not earn you money.

>valve crashes TF2 economy over night carelessly pushing an update because all trading and having a steam marketplace was meant to do is give players more options with what they get in games, never meant to be a virtual casino with real world cashouts

>speculators go 'Hullhrrr they wouldn't do it again right! Safest bet on CSGO skins!"
>valve does it again

>SHOCKEDPIKACHU.JPEG
>>
>>724056316
You are right, if you told people back then that this could happen to CSGO and later on CS2 too they would casually laugh it off or call you retarded, this is the best outcome I could've hoped for.
>>
>>724054678
shut up tmartin. shouldn't you be running your underage gambling operation?
>>
I'm far happier for the actual players of the game (the masses) who will get to enjoy rare skins for cheaper now. Or even craft them themselves.
I fucking wish my Dota arcanas and immortals went to zero and everyone could earn them by playing the game, I don't give a shit about fomo and exclusive bragging rights.
>>
Valve should never have let it get to this point, the whole thing is ridiculous. Maybe they could have found some way to do it more gradually or something. The fact that any of these things were trading for more than like 100 dollars should have been a red flag like 10 years ago and they should have addressed it then. The people committing suicide are also retards, these kind of shakeups always cause huge overreactions, at least wait a month or something to see how the market settles. Unless you're a retard and somehow trading CS skins on margin then there's no reason to off yourself.
>>

So basically this is good for people who actually play the game and bad for fags treating a game like a stock market? Sounds based.

Wow I didn't think about it like that.....

let me laugh even harder!
>>
I didn't even know about this crazy underground world where Chinese retards use Steam as a stock market.
Is it possible to make enough money playing CS to buy games on Steam for free? How much can I expect to earn per week if I play, say, 3 hours on Saturday?
>>
>>724054678
Imagine putting all your money into a virtual asset controlled 100% by a single corporate entity that absolutely does not give a single shit about your "investments".
A fool and his money are easily parted.
>>
>week from now I can buy a cool looking knife for 1/10th the price it was before
I dont see the problem
>>
I'm not even touching the fact that people think gambling items owned by a private corporation are an investment
But who the fuck puts all their money into their investments? The rule is always don't invest it if you can't afford to lose it
>>
>the destruction
knives aren't 2000 fucking dollars anymore, we're going back to 2015 prices, this is only been a positive for the rest of the playerbase
>but muh red skins
RED SKINS ARE ASTRONOMICALLY LESS RARE THAN KNIVES, THEY WILL ALWAYS BEN UNBOXED EN MASSE
>>
Isn't it a good thing that skin prices go down so that people can buy them cheaper?
>>
>>724059590
>isn't it a good thing house prices are going down and all the bankers are jumping off buildings cause they lost their life savings?

>>
>>724059647

I see.
>>

>>
>>724059647

>>
>>724054991
ok to be fair valve does not ban people lmao, you can literally say whatever you want across all their games and you won't get banned
>>
>>724054678
lol, you bet your kneecaps on a volatile digital commodity and got pwnt, lmao
>>
>>724055678
based. dunk on faggot op.
>>
For most people this update is a positive, and im sure there are way more people with hundreds of hours in the game who are happy they have a chance to get more skins
>>
The best point to sell was when CS2 was announced, which is what I did. I'm still riding that high and straight up bought myself a Steam Deck from that and reinvested in cases.
A spike in demand like that was once in a lifetime and people riding out past that were taking a serious risk.
>>
>>724055785

>god forbid someone gets a bit of money from putting hundreds of hours into their favorite game
I played csgo for hundereds of hours and I made more money playing it than I spent for buying it, and never bought any skin with my money
thanks to retards like you, even the shitty skins and cases you get weekly can be sold on the market
I bought a few cheap skins that I liked with that money and even a few games during the steam sales
you just suck at managing money, because you have more money than sense
>>
>>724054776
>assumes shit
>"You dare assume shit about ME?!"
You're a faggot for this and for thinking any digital item you do not directly control was ever a safe investment. Scarecity is the name of the game and they can always take it away at any time.
