Was it really that bad?Not even worth it at 75% off?
>>724059894It's fun Has fun shootingHas fun roleplaying Has fun immersion and looks pretty.Parvati needs to be hate crimes tho.
>>724059894>Was it really that bad?Yes>Not even worth it at 75% off?No
>>724059894It's mediocre. Don't waste your time
>>724059894Just pirate it
>>724059894It was pretty badIf you're going to play it dont pay for it
>>724059894Skip it. they made a minimum viable product and shipped it to the masses
>>724060087/thread
>>724059894It was vicously mediocre, outside of the Gorgon DLC. It's ok for a playthrough, but that's about it.
>>724059894>Was it really that bad?It wasn't miserably bad, it just was extremely boring and forgettable, it's really that simple, it's what someone would call peak 5/10 piece of media, not fucked up bad but not good either, it's just mediocre all around and boring.I paid 14€ for the base game on steam and I honestly think it was too much for, first, the length of the game and second the fun I've had, or lack of it.
>>724059894MediocreI got it for free and it's just kinda bland. It wasn't the communist propaganda I thought it was going to be but it also doesn't really say much apart from "Corporations take advantage of workers, doesn't that suck?"
Is the 2nd one better? Do all the females still look like men?
>>724059894It's not bad, but it's bland. You won't have a bad time playing and finishing it, but you won't remember anything about it as soon as it ends. It feels like some suits gathered together and put a prompt in ChatGPT to make a RPG that appeals to anyone (or no one). No risk, no soul.
It's the most mid game ever. A prime exemple of a 5/10 game.
>>724060853It's not out yet. From the brief gameplay I saw, it looks serviceable but the writing is still probably shit.
>>724059894I only played it once and dont want to replay it. The main thing that I hate about is the item system.
I played it years ago and i dont remember anything at all about the story or characters. All i remember is that the game is piss easy to the point of being boring.Everything about the game was just really bland and forgettable, which the main problem with everything Obisidian nowdays.
I got it for £5. It was alright for the price. Although it seems to drop the ball hard on the last planet/area
absolutely garbage game, wouldn't play it even if it were free
The only mildly entertaining part in the entire thing is when you go to the DLC resort and meet the people being controlled by snails attached to their neck. And the amusement I had was mild because they don't even do that very well. They just have big creepy smiles and have an in-human way of speaking to you.
>>724059894there is something that made me complete it altough i dont remember what because the game essentially is slop. Probably the faction choices and the ability to kill everyone. If it werent so fucking ugly i'd give it 7/10
best compliment you can give to this game is that its better than starfield
>he didn't getted it for freeBro...
>>724059894It's fun in a short kind of way. Good pick me up but it's worth only $20 at most. The sequel should be priced the same.
>>724059894I got it for free and I couldn't be bothered to play more than a few hours. It's woke as hell and the story is retarded.
>>724059894It's fine.Biggest problem is honestly just lack of replay value since there's less weapon variety and not much worth exploring for.
>>724059894Its a b class attempt at fallout in space, its mediocre
>>724059894Alot of females with lesbian haircuts, the game
>>724059894it's a boring piece of shit
>>724059894It’s fine. The main issues is that the whole experience is hamstrung a bit by the aggressively limited scope and the twee-ness of it all can get grating. That said, at least it has a narrative and aesthetic voice and isn’t just bland sludge like Starfield. I think it’s well worth picking up at a discount.
>>724059894It's the quintessential 5/10 game. It does everything well enough but never surprises or delights. It's pretty much a flatline where you're having only a moderate amount of fun throughout but never anything beyond. It has a few good ideas here and there but they're not implemented very well. The writing isn't as annoying as Borderlands but all the humor falls flat, the story is predictable, and pretty much every character is a two dimensional archetype or stereotype such that you don't care all that much about the world you're supposed to save.
>>724070587>humor falls flatAddendum: the second DLC has one (1) laugh-out-loud joke before the final boss fight if you bring Felix with you. It's a meta comment poking fun at the game's writing.
>>724060201It's not even worth pirating.
>>724060853I've just seen a (French) reviewer giving the Outer Worlds 2 a 9/10. He also said he'd have given the first one only a 5/10. So maybe it's actually good.
>>724060853Sequel seems to be legitimately good from a mechanical standpoint. Both the gameplay and rpg progression. Story and companions are still supposedly weak though. But fps shooter style RPGs lend themselves to lone wolf play anyway.
>>724059894The worst part is that it doesn't give you any sexy costumes to dress your player character or your NPC companions up in like Fallout New Vegas and even Fallout 4 did. No fun allowed at modern obsidian.
>>724059894It's a waste of time
>>724059894It peaks in the first area and only gets worse the more you play. It's also pretty obviously unfinished.
I played it for free and i felt ripped offIf you really have to, play just the first planet and then uninstall it and pretend the devs never bothered to finish it past that (which is essentially what happeened)
>Equipment system reduced to body/helmet slots with fuckall for options>Weapons equally lacking in variety, with only a handful of uniques, many of which are bad from a stat/effect standpoint. >Skill/leveling system makes Fallout 4's look inspired, and you will very quickly become a god of everything that has no trouble passing any statcheck, unless you go out of your way to handicap yourself >Companion leveling is also just boring meaningless percentage increases with a couple of abilities that you can't even tell if they work or not >Only 2 main factions compared to 4 in NV, but the badguy faction is somehow less fleshed out than the Legion, and you don't even directly interact with them until the very end of the game >Side factions are completely contained within their respective hub planets, and how you choose to conclude a hub planet's story chain has no bearing whatsoever on the outcome of the main quest or the world as a whole >Sidequests in general were unmemorable and most planets are actually quite small / linear, with no real exploration off the beaten path>Fuck all for enemy variety. Basically a handful of alien fauna and like 3-4 types of humans >Combat feels only slightly more polished than NV despite being almost a decade older >Every companion is also pretty forgettable It's the most 4-5/10 game I've ever played. Besides really not having any performance issues or serious bugs, there's nothing redeeming about it.
>>724059894It was fun. Plenty of skills, social skills have uses in combat, checks come up often in the world and in dialogue. Combat can be as straightforward or complex as you like. Its the kind of game I want to try a new run right after beating it to see if something else works. Like going full Leader and never firing a weapon once after getting two companions. I think everyone, including myself, expected New Vegas 2. It's oddly enough more structured after Fallout 2. Had Obsidian trademark outstanding worldbuilding and lore: Learning about the two colony ships, missing earth cruiser, noone knows if earth even exists anymore, the abysmal life under megacops is some Douglas Adams shit etc. But why does it feel like Avellone was the only person in the entire world that could write intriguing dialgoue and characters, everyone feels like they do a "...just kidding" line as to never ever having to get serious. Also, skill check failure has no follow up except combat, but not going to rag on it too much since again the combat is fun and ragdolls overreact to impact during bullettime.
>>724059894if you go in there expecting Fallout 3/NV you'll be pleasantly surprised. If you go in there expecting Rockstar level quality, dudes fucking bears, Quadruple-A glaze session, and are sensitive to MUH CAPITALISM... dont bother
>>724075650>Combat is funIt's literally just FO3/NV gameplay 10 years after the fact with no enemy variety. What the fuck are you talking about? >Oh wow what an exciting build where I raise one stat, and put on 1 MAYBE 2 pieces of gear with stat boosts, so I never shoot my gun and just wait for the janky companion AI to clear enemies
>>724075781>Go in expecting 12/10 year old games>Get a game that is somehow worse them in every regard except the combat being *slightly* better even if there's fuck all enemy variety >This is supposed to be a pleasant surprise Most FO3/NV fans would have a vastly better time just replaying those games than ever playing outerworlds
>>724075962Yes. I swing two-handed hammer and send raider into low orbit while my character is too dumb to form coherent sentences in conversations. Other time I sit back and let the companions sort it out as it was an autobattler. Another one with weird science weapons only. Had a pacifist run where nobody killed anyone, except I messed up and had to fight the robot boss on Tartarus, spent hours chipping health with the mindcontrol ray and trying to get one of the hacked turrets to finish it off. It makes it fun and viable to be literally anything other than stealth sniper.
>>724076147well, i respectfully disagree with you bitch. I enjoyed the game a lot as a fan of both. Not every game needs to push the envelope for their respective genre.
