I've been thinking about making a point and click adventure based on gnostic horror. Your plane crashes in Romania while you are on the way to study the medieval Bogomil culture and you find yourself on the outskirts of a strange rural village, you're the only survivor. Before long you uncover that the Bogomils have a cult inside the village and they wear these giant hairshirts that cover their bodies from the neck down. Eventually you realize that underneath their hairshirts is exposed flesh that they peeled off and used a wax as a sealant over their exposed flesh so they don't die. They do this as a way of "perfecting" their flesh before ascending to the pleroma. Also they're trying to summon Kalpytos which takes over their minds and turns them into freakish beasts
