>Logitech G203
>bought on June of last year because it was on sale and I needed a temporary mouse for my work PC
>built my PC this year, now I use it for it
>scroll wheel is already crapping out

Not even the famed double clicking issue and I've been playing a lot of games since I got my PC. I swear, every single mouse I have owned ends with a faulty wheel after some months of use.

Recommend me a new mouse, preferably something with a proven good scroll wheel that won't die after staring at it for too long.

Dareu chinky brands are good, have a good sensor + come with grip tape in the box + good battery life and have a charging dock bundled in

If you're a hobbyist you can also widen the pin holes and put millmax hotswap sockets into your mouse

if all of your scroll wheels die, it's probably because you have the negative habit of having dirty hands before using your mouse. Scroll wheels are suspetable to dirt. Try washing your hands before using your keyboard and mouse. This will increase the lifespan of your keyboard, too.

I have a 102, looks exactly like that and the wheel got fucked after like 2 months
I physically can't click the middle button without scrolling the wheel to find a specific position where I can. It's a shame because it's the perfect mouse other than that problem
>>
>>724075939
I have gone through at least 3 G305's in the last 8 years or so. Double clicking appeared on all of them within 2 years.
309 has optical switches which should prevent this from happening. Otherwise G305 is absolute godlike.
>>
>>724077730
I always have my hands clean, but I do admit that it could be a matter of dust accumulation. I'll see if I can open it and clean it up, or at least use some compressed air. And I actually just tested something quick, which was pressing on the wheel and scrolling up and down at least two full rotations each, and it kind of fixes the issue, so it's very likely that it's just dirty on the inside.

It took until the past few months for one of the mouse buttons to begin double-clicking (not even that often) and earlier this year one of the side buttons began double-clicking.
Are you faggots manhandling and throwing and slamming your mouses constantly to tear them up so fast?

OP I have the exact same mouse and I bought it because I heard it has no double clicking issues, and so far its been perfect for clicking.
But I did develop the exact same issue with the scroll wheel not working well after like 6 months.

But then one day I got really annoyed and mashed/pushed down on it and scrolled really hard for like 20 seconds and now it works perfectly again. Maybe try doing that or blowing some compressed air in there.
>>
>>724074079
I had to throw away 2 of them, the scroll wheel just gunks up and gets stuck. Awful.

This is more just the nature of the modern mouse. The switch that is used because it has low latency just can not survive many clicks. Scroll wheels are simply a faulty system. Optical switches are replacing Omicrom switches but they also inroduce potental failure points into the system.

>>
why do all peripherals with decent specs have to throw in RGB cancer for no reason
>>
>>724101147
Because throwing RGB has become so cheap and common that sometimes it's cheaper than a non-RGB equivalent, and it's a non-issue since you can either just turn it off or set it to one color.
>>
>>724095679
aside from cost cutting, i think it's because people have a preference for wheels that have short/rapid clicks because it's more responsive. but this requires the internal gear mechanism to be finer-grained than they used to be and the teeth are likely physically smaller to not increase cost. so they wear out much faster leading to both issues with missed detections and double-clicks. to counter this you would need more durable material - denser plastic or metal parts. which the manufacturers don't want because they have to custom order it for $0.20/unit while the shit parts that are premade and ready to ship from a warehouse cost $0.003/unit
