Is heroes 3 dated in 2026?
>>

nope, this game ages like wine

>it's dated
i hate this fucking term that I swear to God it's only used by pretentious youtuber midwits

of course it's fucking dated, you should play the game expecting shit from its time, it is still great

dated if all you care for are raytracing and 3D graphics

That's just it though. HoMM3 aged really well. The really smart decision was not completely abandoning hand drawn art even though they had switched to prerendered 3d art for the creatures.

It was dated even in 1999.
>small-sized battlefields
>only seven units can be deployed in a strategy game that was released at the end of the decade of Total Annihilation and even the entire X-Com franchise where you would normally control 20+ units
>AI has been so broken and utterly exploitable from release day, which is unavoidable even in multiplayer games since you spend most of the time hunting neutrals
>Great looking cities tainted by ugly-ass uncanny valley units
It was inferior to Master of Magic, which released 5 years before it, so yeah, it was really behind the fucking times.
