It would be a fine spinoff, but it should never have been a numbered entry in the series. The new protagonist sucks, the new combat mechanics suck, the movement sucks, there's no real exploration. I think with the NG license using existing work as a template whatever they made would have felt less phoned in and a more authentic/artistically inspired product compared to NG4 by platinum. personally (and I’ve argued this before) I have always felt that they should introduce a new hayabusa ninja as an excuse to slow the gameplay back down to something more similar to NGB without so much dogshit happening at once. Either way though tou can compare platinum games and from games and platinum games never really have much of a sense of atmosphere to them, they always feel super sterile and often have this gaming computer look to everything. From games and their sense of aesthetics and atmosphere (goes back to the ps1 days) would have been a better fit at capturing and expanding on the ninja gaiden universe. making interesting levels is probably one of the best things FROM does and one of the biggest complaints about NG4 other than the retarded main character is how boring the levels almost all look. It’s standard platinum world building.

There have been NONE, ZERO 3D games that adapt or reinvent the classic modern/future ninja aesthetics well, at least that I'm aware of.
