You can usually fix it by just disassembling and reassembling it. Maybe try to re-bend the copper thingy. I also added some epoxy molding clay on the hammers that press the switches since they had clear imprints of the switch button on it, which is what is actually causing the issues with double clicking and not being able to hold a mouse press.

mines randomly right clicking even when I'm not holding the mouse so I don't even know if it's a switch thing or the mouse's wires/board are fucked

I've had this shitty little wireless logitech mouse for like 10 years and I've had to fix those switches dozens of times
I refuse to get a new one though I wish my shithead brother didn't destroy my trackball mouse

I'm still using my mouse even though the LMB occasionally double clicks, RMB can't be held down, one of three thumb buttons is broken, and MMB and the wheel have been inoperable for years. My gamersmeg is too copious

Just a cheap fucker and I can work around it. Most games have RMB to toggle aim rather than click and hold, the double clicking LMB is less an issue than it sounds, and the fucked up wheel is a problem because a lot of games do shit like tie camera zoom to it but in most cases you can still ignore it. I've actually got a cheap shit mouse in reserve if this one completely dies, and I'm half-assed keeping my eyes open for another tolerable gaming mouse in the $20 range. Could stand to pick up a new controller too
>>
>>724094131
how about just opening up the mouse and, you know, just fixing it?

>fix your double clicking problem without having to desolder and solder shit in your path
>>
I bought a quality mouse made in a first world country by people with an active interest in reliability, and so I've never had this issue.

Double clicking happens because the buttons are undervolted on purpose to make you buy a new mouse every 6 months. Sure, you can swap the switch, but you're going to have to do that every 6 months for the rest of your life.

These days they're starting to "fix" the double clicking with gimmicks like optical switches, so in order to continue the scam, these days they're putting fucking MECHANICAL ENCODERS in your scroll wheels. These things are literal junk.
>>
>>724094696
*long strip of it falls into the mouse*
>>
>>724095189
it happens with humidity as well, as will all electronics not just mouse
>>
>>724088316
it mainly happens to wireless mice because they undervolt the whole board to save power and that puts the voltage below specification for the switches, causing arcing.
not to mention the switches are designed for office use, one or two clicks per minute.
>>

>Double clicking happens because the buttons are undervolted on purpose to make you buy a new mouse every 6 months.
excuse me?
double clicking happens because the little piece of metal inside the switch gets bent too much. opening up the switch and flattening it out gently fixes it. old mice didn't have this problem as much because this piece of metal was larger and more robust and as such didn't get bent as much.
>>
>>724096648
No, it's a voltage issue.
>>
Are hall effect mice indestructible?
>>
>>724097149
then why the fuck does fixing the little metal piece without altering the voltage fix the double clicking?

>>724097232
It doesn't. Opening your switch up and messing with it probably removed some static buildup, or changed the contact point so the arcs are less common. It's a temporary fix for shit design.
>>
>>724097232
it depends on the mouse

all mouses will have the bent metal issue, cuz the switches suck

wireless gaming mouse with high polling rate will have the voltage issue on top of that

christ, i swear the more you people invest in hyper-premium crap, the more your shit breaks
i'm using a keyboard i dug out of a university dumpster and a dirt cheap wired laser mouse. the keyboard is probably 20+ years old, and the mouse is like 5 or 10.
>>
>>724087836
bought some Kailh White Blade off aliexpress for my g703. it's still working perfectly fine, but it's been like 8 years, wanted to be prepared for the inevitable.
>>
>>724087836
bending the little metal bit is surprisingly easy to fix it
but getting a warranty and swapping the mouse at the local best buy whenever something goes wrong is pretty easy too
>>
Bros recommend me a cheap soldering iron to replace my switches

This happened when I was drag-dropping files between two explorer windows. Those files were pornography. The double-clicking happened while the mouse was over a network folder in my school. I have no idea where it went or who got it. I didn't get expelled. Maybe they liked it?
