>AI is 'a combination of metadata with a parlor trick,' Take-Two boss says: 'A great thing' for business, but it's not creative and never will be

>"What AI is, is the combination of big datasets with a bunch of compute within natural LLM—a large language model," Zelnick told his audience. Leaning into an opinion he shared in an interview earlier this year, he continued, "And by definition, a data set is what? Backward looking. By definition, creativity is what? Forward looking. And to the extent that AI appears to be forward looking, it is what? A predictive model."

Unfathomably based. This dude is smarter than Carmack. Usually CEOs are dumb as fuck.

AI images are always coomer shit or derivative shit, 90% of the time its a pornified pinup woman in a non-descript environment, the rest of the time its what you would get if you mashed together the first 3 images you would find from a google image search.

AI has never created anything on it's own. It literally requires human input to do anything, it has no will of it's own.

If it did have a will it sure wouldn't be wasting it's time making images of cartoon women without their clothes or coding videogames.

In terms of creativity studies find that AI is better than the average person but cannot match the top 5 percent. Which seems about right. We’ll get AI slop but the truly talented people are going nowhere. But it would also feed the idea that people who are afraid of AI are mediocre in their art.

Optics are all fucked up. AI is extremely high quality with the art. You can say the top 5% is better but where are those people? Probably sleeping in the ground. They sure as shit aren't the artists that can no longer find work because of AI. And most industries putting out pop art doesn't employ those really talented artists. Like even in Japan where a lot of amazing artists live, most of them aren't pumping out art for video games. They get shitty artists for that for some reason.

>>
>>724123105
AI is creative as fuck because it mathematically avoids human biases. It's scientifically more creative, just ask it to make up designs for random ass fashion shows and you'll see how crazy it is. Humans can't compete with random borderline nonsense if you're looking for unique designs.
The top human artists mog it only in terms of context. AI is still shit at that since the past 2 years have gone to making video better instead of pictures.
>>
>>724117368
>>724122108
To be fair, there are discrepencies depending on what you're after. Shit like DALL-E has a way, way, way, the fuck superior language parser, so writing prompts for that is much easier and less nitpicky.
A local instance is also gonna be an absolute nightmare for you if you aren't technically inclined, because it's not gonna take long before you're gonna start needing to use shit like regional prompting and other things to do what you want, and if you're aren't that kinda person, you're in for one hell of a bad time trying to get your head around it.

When it gets you easy patreon bux from people with low as fuck standards for porn, understanding them gets a lot easier.
Like, pick ten assholes like this, and all ten will be generating similar looking art and similiar looking requests using the same publicly-available models, yet none of them lack subs. It's a grift, but a grift that confirms every slopehead shit that gets said about people that pay for porn.

No it's not. The people who post this shit are the biggest fucking midwit "i hecking love science!" redditors on the goddamn planet. AI is not a recent invention. Research and development has been going on for decades, and the recent push is the result of companies deciding that the tech is finally mature enough to market to the public. You are not at the beginning of AI, witnessing the birth of a new technology. I know that you only pay attention to whatever the fuck reaches the front page of reddit but the reality is that none of this is new, it has existed since before you were born but never received mainstream attention because nobody was ready to sell it to you yet. This is not "woah, somebody just invented a new thing called a car wtf!" this is "cars are finally good enough for the average person to own". There is no exciting new development in the future. You are not going to live in a robot utopia. Your skin will continue to be the color of feces and AI will not help you escape your third world slum.

>>724125829
It's just a self-inflating bubble that is propping itself up on b2b sales driven hype, all perpetuated on FOMO and basically if you aren't trying to get in on the equity train while this is all in swing you're going to be ousted by whatever group of retarded boomers are sitting on your board.
Eventually one of two things will happen, either AI actually becomes rapidly develops into the platform everyone thinks it is (despite its implementation being a failure for literally 95% of companies who have tried to implement it), or people will begin to pull out of their investments once market sentiment hits that it's all hot air and then there will be the largest market correction since 2008. Probably.
>>
>>724126052
Except research shows it isn't, and isn't anywhere close. What is going on in the market right this very moment is exactly what happened with consumer hype on VR headsets. The tech *LOOKS* good enough to the uninitiated because people can finally slap enough shit into a fancy slidedeck for it to look good to retarded execs.
>>
>>724125946
Wouldn't that just mean the entire model is unsustainable? They gotta pay for the absurd power costs, not to mention they have to replace thousands of GPUs every 3-5 years and nobody's really currently paying for it so how's it meant to make money to sustain itself? You either have to charge customers to recoup costs or find that money elsewhere and since it needs billions to keep running. That's a tall fucking order.

>many companies who were quick to outsource their entry level customer satisfaction and analyst roles quickly realized that these functions cannot be as easily replaced as they thought, and are attempting to rehire
>licensing costs are absurdly expensive, typically more than just hiring another person
>some fang companies like apple have officially gone on record and stated theyre not going hard on the AI race because it is not at the point where it is even remotely capable of performing to the level people think it is
>it is absurdly cost prohibitive to implement an AI suite that is capable of doing more than routine day to day tasks, typically just falls to pieces when confronted with any nuanced/black swan situation
>vast majority of companies do not have an existing ERP system or project system that is compatible with such an implementation
>US power grid is already operating close to its maximum operating level because 90% of the infrastructure was built in the 70s, and companies like amazon are desperately trying to lobby the government to fund more modern power grid infrastructure because it is already becoming a massive bottleneck

AI doesn't need to be creative, it just needs to be able to do the intern level grunt work so your developers and artists can focus on the high level stuff. Considering it already does this, even if it stopped improving today it will still be a vital tool going forward.

He's right though. AI will never be creative and will never let soulless jeets and other brownoids excel by using it cause only whites and asians can be creative. AI can give basic reference pictures and do technical tasks but it cannot actually CREATE anything remotely creative and you still have to hire human animators (cause AI will never fathom non-basic scenarios/choreography) and human writers (if I have to explain this one you're brown) and for programming cause I seriously doubt AI will ever comprehend code. AI will only be good as an assistant and a means to cut out a bunch of menial, tiny tasks so the actual people can focus on the major important things.

But only indie devs without connections or financial backing should ever be using AI at all. Millionaire/Billionaire companies should be hiring actual human beings for things.
