Just finished it. Well, it isn't irredeemably bad, but still it rings hollow after beating it. That last fight was kinda fun. The movement around the city iwas kinda fun. Fabian was okay, he kinda grew on me, but his segments just walking around was a bit boring. Grinding blood resonance points was not very fun. Most abilities are garbage. There is evidence in the files that they originally intended for there to be idle NPC conversations during sequences like arriving at the Glacier hotel. I so hope that stuff like this gets reintegrated into the game, because it would go a long way towards making the world feel alive. It sucks that you enter a space, and there's NPCs standing around silently. I'm not saying you have to be able to talk to them. But having them talk to each other as you mingle is really good. Unique dialogue per area, per chapter, etc.

But they're too mechanically simple and padded, I think. Running back and forth to refill your blood is bad. They need to improve the sequences, pronto.

The original plan for the mark was for Gideon's soul to completely overtake Phyre's. Fabien was always a weaker, less powerful vampire. So he was always going to be on the wrong side of that balance. The mark is designed to weaken phyre so that the new soul can take root. The Gardener/Gideon refers to it as the soil being furrowed.
