I remember the first game had a lot of hype behind it (outside of here, and mostly reactionary to Rick & Heckin Morty Guy), and then after it released, no one talked about it. Like, outside of the mandatory reviews, the internet just forgot about the game. People played it and found that their first 3D RPG with looting, persuasion, combat, companions, and crafting was a fucking 6/10 for 60 goddamn dollars. I got a press copy after the fact, and it was still a waste of time. I played about 4 or 6 hours through the first level (the best in the game) and was like "it's okay," and then it immediately got worse, and I stopped shortly after. Might try the DLC since I heard it's better, but the only people praising it would also be subjecting themselves to that shitty game and think it was "good enough" to warrant time investment. Honestly after running around the vomit colored planet and getting girlbossed around I am now just wanting to play starfield which I am sure I will also just drop again immediately. Really sucks there isn't just one good modern space game out there. The narrative feels like it has no drive. I just infiltrated the automated robot place as the alternative to working for that one guy who wanted me to find info on Mental Refreshment and everything feels so aimless and lifeless. I don't know who any of these people are and I don't care. I've got the Dumb trait but the Dumb dialogue seems to get the same results as the normal dialogue and I was hoping for a more unique playthrough. Like, the NPCs might say a line or two in response but then the conversation is immediately rerailed onto the main path and the talk's ending is the same. These one-off lines feel like token appeasement.
