A great game
One of my favorites actually
Yeah I can nitpick but it's only because I've played it so much to recognize little flaws

I wouldn't mind me some 600 nuggets rn but i guess RE2 will have to do
also who is best to play as: leon or claire?
>>
>>724145210
It doesn't really matter you end up doing both to finish the game
Just pick whichever character you think looks cooler for the A scenario
>>
>>724145210
leon. claire looks ugly.

>>724144682
it's a fun game but the writing is ass.

Don't use your bullets unless you REALLY have to

in what way?
>>
>>724145210
Way better to play Leon first. He's slightly easier, and Claire is more story heavy so it's best to keep her for last
>>
Ada simping

I'll never understand this unless you're playing on hardcore. You have more than enough bullets to kill every single enemy in the game (except in the beginning, you'll have to ration yourself)
>>
>>724145890
This, and even then, by the time Mr X shows up, you're already drowning in Handgun ammo
>>
OP, don't listen to these two retards, conserve your ammo

well in the original leon is written as a guy who became a cop because he wants to help people, and he acts that way throughout the entire game. like there's a scene in the original where a journalist has locked himself inside a prison cell because of the zombies, and leon wants to let him out so he can escort him to safety, but the guy refuses. in the remake, however, he's written as a cop first and selfless hero second. in the same scene in the remake he ends up getting the journalist killed because this time the journalist wants to be let out and he refuses to release him from prison in the middle of a fucking zombie infection because he doesn't have the chief's permission. keep in mind this is his first day as a cop and every single other cop in the city is dead. he's basically a complete a retard this time around. there's another scene in the original where he gets betrayed by ada. he's genuinely shocked and upset when he gets betrayed. in the remake, however, he immediately starts acting like he secretly knew she would betray him (he didn't).

>bullet sponge enemies
Like burying bullets with an SMG into their skulls won't do jack shit. It's really fucking stupid. You had to aim for the knee cap or legs instead to disable them and just walk away.
>eaaaaahh!! eeauuughh! ugggghhh!
Yeah there's that stupid fucking fight in the pipe room with steam and shit. Anytime you got grabbed by the boss there's a very uncanny period of time like a few seconds of detachment, like a hiccup in gameplay, coz it's like a brief fucking cutscene of Leon getting tossed to the ground. And then you had to get back up again.

i don't remember the betrayal

A game with good level design that trusts you to explore on your own. >>724145890
>You have more than enough bullets to kill every single enemy in the game (except in the beginning, you'll have to ration yourself)
That's literally every survival horror game ever. There's never been a game where you aren't a one man army by the end. Rationing is just a strategy at the beginning.

Never played a Resident Evil game before this year. My friend bought the RE2 remake for me, and I instantly became a fan. Played both Leon and Claire's stories back-to-back, went on to play RE3 remake, Code Veronica, and RE4 remake. I'm currently in the middle of playing through Revelations. And I must say, RE2 is still my favorite, easily. You're in for a good time.

Have you played the classic RE1-3?
If not, drop this garbage demake, and play those instead. Multiple times.

So only the trash, and still haven't even humored the thought of playing OG RE1-4 and REmake 1?

Fun

this a noob trap. the trick is separating repeated connecting paths from dead areas in the map. basically if you're in a place with an entrance and exit and you're probably going to need to come back, kill everything. the game's resource management isn't really that focused on your basic zombie killing tool, the pistol, it's more so about running out of power ammo that can get you out of a jam, it's bad to waste that ammo on low level encounters.

running like an asthmatic 80yo and getting grabbed. also backtracking due to the shitty limited inventory system

Play the PS1 version first
The remake is good but lacks soul
