There's so much of totk that is elevated by having played botw. The only ones who will ever tell you to not play these games are people who spend too much time hating them senselessly.

>>724155867The first one is just a celebration of the franchise and operates by the rule of cool, all the content in it is there just because it's cool it's there. The other two are prequels to Botw and Totk respectively, they are canon to the story of the games. Botw and Totk take place in a time long after the events depicted in Hyrule Warriors, however they routinely callback to moments from them.
