>>724154838It is funny to say this when Senran Kagura was just about the only one of the otaku fanservice games that was solidly built. It had fun gameplay and good animation and art. Nothing felt repetitive either like most of the others. In this I also don't count Neptunia (because quality in the series varies wildly from game to game) nor do I count Disgaea and other NIS games (quite sexy, but it feels more like a bonus added than the main thrust of the games). Senran Kagura was so well designed and had so much potential in fact, it is really absurd it died in the way it did. It was the one that had the most potential to ascend and likely had a lot more bargaining power. But the higher ups completely gave up on it at the soonest sign of resistance despite most of the other companies finding ways to continue on making games. If they really cared, we could still be getting Senran Kagura by now and it would even have flashy modern graphics.

Butting heads with platform holders and credit card companies just to get barely 10k sales worldwide because weebcattle would rather whale on gacha is simply not a viable path for business.

The original characters introduced in senran kagura new link were well liked and Nan took a lot of care into them. Introducing a new cast allows new players that haven't played senran kagura before to be able to think they are getting a fresh experience to the world without needing to know old characters (like idolmaster series games). And they can bring back older versions of old characters fucking finally.
