Telltale also didn't try or gave up because even though you can make many anti-Clem choices, she still ends up being a loyal friend to Javi and doesn't hold any grudges towards him, it's like even they knew that going against Clem would be so unpopular that they didn't bother to write any kind of negative relationship with her.

>>724184273That's how I played the first time, I like to mix it up, it really depends in what I prefer. For example, I like staying with Clem at the junkyard to fight the New Frontier because that at least gives some closure to Mari when you bury her. I usually keep Conrad alive because there's more upsides, he doesn't die, Gabe doesn't rat you out later and you can squeeze some more Clem screen time. The bad thing is that these choices don't matter in what kind of relationship Javi has with Clem, they always end up the same which can make scenes like pic related feel forced if you have been nothing but a dick to her, maybe a point system similar to Kenny in S1 could have been a good way to make these choices work.

If you liked the style of the Telltale formula they are worth checking out because it's more of that and the games are dirt cheap, I think they are on sale right now. The last two seasons have things going for them but Clementine remains the highlight.

A story about a grown man and a teen girl teaming up in a journey to save their families, while growing closer, learning to understand each other in an unique way because they both share a lot in common, having a troubled past shaped by guilt and having to take care of children that are not their own sounds fitting, a bit too fitting. It would literally be the story of a step-dad and a step-mom joining forces to save their families, the same shippers that made Cluke shit would go overdrive with this. So they scrapped it, gave Javi an actual love interest in the form of Kate and wrote the romance plot with her and David, while Clem gets hints with someone her age with Gabe.
