How do you guys LISTEN to your games?
Been arguing with a buddy again since I'm a soundbarfag and hes a home theaterfag so I wanted to see where /v/ stands on this.

I use cheap pair of Logitech speakers
>>
>>724178006
I get the feeling this is going to be a very common reply
Do they even make "PC speakers" as a real product category anymore or is it all cheap garbage?
>>
>>724177948
hdmi out to a receiver and speakers.
>>
>>724178006
Same, but I'm considering getting a soundbar

dt990 pros

I use these and I love them. Have my consoles and PC sound going through the TV's passthrough to avoid the shitty TV amp, into these powered speakers that are honestly great. Their built in amp is decent enough that I have a CD/Tape unit hooked up too because they have two inputs and there's bluetooth if I want to use my phone for Spotify. Only minor downside is having to get off my ass to adjust volume sometimes, but since I live alone it usually just sits at the same level.

>Headphones
Move out of your parent's house.

IEMs all day. Lightweight bullet type. Some cheap waifupods that /g/ recommended.

Sometimes I'll switch to my DT770 headphones but they get uncomfortable after an hour or so. I also have JBL 305P speakers that I'll blast if I'm home alone and drunk.
>>
Was also expecting some headphones posters.
I have Sony XM5s (headphones and wireless buds) but I don't want to wear anything in or on my ears for more than an hour at a time, they just get uncomfortable.
Bose has some really comfortable headphones though, my next pair will probably be from them.
I also feel like I'd be startled by explosions and shit in games while wearing them, I dunno.

A sonos ray, connected to the fiber-optic output on the motherboard. Sounds pretty good.
>>
Onkyo 1000watt home stereo receieve klipsch speakers and a 250watt powered sub might be more Im not sure but it has good bass

All cheap garbage, which is why I've upgraded every single peripheral I own, except my speakers, which are from 2004.

>Do they even make "PC speakers" as a real product category anymore
no because mobos have had hdmi and optical out for eons
>>
>>724177948
For the past two decades I've been gaming on entry level stereo headphones, stuff like dt770s, m50x or whatever the Sennheiser equivalent is.
>>
>>724177948
Beyerdynamic TYGRs through a dac+amp combo (which is honestly unnecessary, but has a nice volume knob)
>>724179252
Already did, but it's an apartment with pretty thin walls.
>>
>>724180020
Are these companion 3 or companion 5 series?
My brother and father still use 3s, they're fantastic.
Damn shame they haven't been sold in such a long time.
>>
Sennheiser HD598 cs
Otherwise I treat myself with the speakers, some Edifier MR4s...
>>
live in an apartment so i have to use these. pretty comfy tho.

BGM = off.

Based White consideration.

Doesn't HDMI out suffer from latency anyway? Basically useless for gaymen.
>>
I use headphones despite living alone in a house where my closest neighbors are a considerable distance away. They're just better.
>>
>>724180950
same

>>724180943
i only experienced that when i had a crappy costco tcl brand tv in the mid 10s.

I'm a /mu/fag so I have these plus a subwoofer which I connect to my tv through a stereo amp. On PC I have JBL studio monitors sitting on my desk.
A home theater system would be cool, but I think sound bars are total fucking junk for normies and I would never buy one.

I think they have their uses.
I'm in a bedroom, so even a 2.1 home theater would be complete overkill.
But if you're actually willing to spend more than $1000USD yes I think you should seriously consider it.
>>
>>724177948
I have no choice but to use headphones because my family will chimp out if any noise comes out of my room.
>>
I have both speakers and headphones plugged in and switch between them

These for the big TV, 2 polk bookshelves for the computer room, and bose quitecomfort headphones.
>>
>>724181976
Jelly, but is a sub as well not kinda overkill? Might just be me though since I've always kinda felt like sub bass was a meme. Wharfedale are legit though, had some Diamond 9s for years now and even though they're fairly budget bookshelves, I still like them for my turntable setup.
>>
>>724182957
funny to think this kind of stuff was basically the precursor to modern soundbars, since it was smaller and streamlined in a lot of ways.
My uncle used to have these connected to a plasma screen in the mid 2000s and I used to think there was no way tech could possibly get better than this.
>>
>>724183883
A sub is definitely necessary with those if you want to get super low frequency. I don't always keep it on, but it's fun to use sometimes, and I got the sub really cheap.
>>
>>724177948
2 PC speakers same as i ever did for the last 40 years
>>
>>724177948
I used these until two months ago when I got a pair of kef reference bookshelf speakers.
I also have a pair of 16" svs subs attached to the amplifier.
>>
>>724183892
>there was no way tech could possibly get better than this.
You were kinda right
>>
>>724179716
arctic pro wireless.
just got to be nice to them and have a cheap ass stand hanging off the side of my monitor to set them on.
