You can play some of these on Switch but they're still era exclusives. For me the ranking is PS2 > GameCube > Dreamcast > Xbox.

Xbox had shooters and online multiplayer as a huge selling point. PS2 had tons of big name JRPGs and lots of hits right out the gate (DMC, FFX, SH2, etc). Dreamcast had tons of popular fighting games and weirder, but cult classic, games.

Gamecube had Nintendo games. Which were often fantastic, but most third-party games on it were either shovelware or lesser versions compared to those on other systems. Not to mention it had (at the time) some of the more controversial entries to Nintendo franchises and had an air of immaturity which that gen was obsessed with making gamers feel "cool" and "mature". Look at things like Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, even the DK bongos game. A lot of them were met with mixed opinions even if they were genuinely great games.

The Gamecube was a decent system, but it was best for Nintendo games. And if you weren't feeling what Nintendo was putting out, or were falling in with the industry's efforts to make gamers feel hip and cool, it definitely wasn't the most appealing of the bunch.
