Sega has nothing to bank on. Literally everything you think would be a good IP would need a complete retooling as a whole and would not sell consoles.

The only series that work are Ecco, Persona, Yakuza, Sonic, Phantasy Star, Shining Force, and Billy Hatcher. Everything else you can possibly think of is either niche enough that it would only bring in a small amount of people or a glorified minigame in today's market. Even the series I listed only Persona and Sonic regularly sell more than 2 million copies while Yakuza is lucky if it even makes it to 1 million. We don't even have numbers for 8G or Ishin Kiwami at all with the rumors putting IK at like 300k. Then you have PS and SF which would easily require tens of millions to drag any eyeballs and actively eat into anything Atlus is also doing since they're the RPG branch.
>Jet Set Radio is extremely niche and you can see how it would do in a modern market thanks to Bomb Rush Cyberfunk which shelfwarms.
>Space Channel 5 would need to be priced at $40 to work, have 30+ songs of DLC at launch, and launch with like 50 songs to even survive in today's market. Otherwise it's $20 for what they sold back in the day at most.

You can also see from their free games what AB and GA would look like if rebooted while Shinobi got a recent release by the guys who did the Final Fight reboot if I remember right but priced it at $35 and niche?

Because dedicated hardware and exclusives allow competition and niches to form that otherwise would not have existed in the broader market like PC where everything has to compete with everything for your attention. Persona 5, Yakuza 0, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, and Nier Automata are all games in series that only got popular because they were exclusive to the PS4 when it was having a drought of releases. The PS4 market looked to third parties and these brands all exploded because of this specific reason at that specific time causing them to become more household names and they were only ported years later to PC just to get a bit more money. Even Resident Evil got an enormous boost of eyeballs due to this with RE2R even though that wasn't as notable since RE is already a big brand.

Wanting PC to get everything is asinine and completely ignores the major issues that crop up for the market and consumers as a whole because of that. The console stores are smaller meaning more visibility and opportunities to advertise and be seen that don't exist on PC marketplaces for more than a day, have niches that developers can target and allows genres like Souls to even exist at all, and allows them to get more people playing the games because they don't have to deal with the obvious issues of PC specs and a more targeted market that's easier to get into.

Sony is even proof that jumping to PC was idiotic because outside of HZD and Days Gone the sales have plateaued with only Helldivers 2 being an exception and they've heavily killed people's excitement by releasing on other platforms ridding the console fanboys of a reason to buy games just out of spite or pride for the brand. There's a reason why porting off games from your system is a bad thing and why Nintendo refuses to do it.

People who advocate for multiplats be the only thing available and available on every system are asking for gaming to die. More people get to play the game at the cost of compounding issues.
