Which takes more skill to be good at, racing games or fighting games?
>>724204912racing games have a higher skill floor, fighting games have a significantly higher skill ceiling
>>724204912It depends. Not every racing game is a sim and not every fighting is execution-heavy with +100 hit long combos.
>>724205141Consider the most demanding (competitive) games of each genre.
EVO is nowhere as impressive as (virtual) 24 Hours of Le Mans, so racing gameshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H_KDEVMJvk
>>724204912Sim racing is ways more competitive than some fighting game. You've got real f1 drivers simming 10 hours a day to prepare for races with millions on the line. Fighting games are kids toys in comparison.
>>724205529Going around the same track for ten hours is an exercise in tedium, not something that takes skill. Rally driving requires way more concentration and skill.
>>724205819They aren't the same thing at all. Losing a tenth on a corner can throw away the race.
>>724204912In a fight, you are focused on 1 opponent. Races are rarely 1v1 affairs. You are also not controlling just your own body, but a machine that weights dozens of times more than you.
>>724207937>You are also not controlling just your own body, but a machine that weights dozens of times more than youI don't remember video games being like this
>>724207937No, racing often involves 1v1 situations.
>>724204912By default, fighting games are 1v1, that's it, and the stages tend to have the same diagram, I don't think you can get more competitive than that.Racing games are built around racing other people, on multiple tracks that have different layouts.Almost every racing game have the same control scheme, you play one racing game, you get the idea of how every racing game plays like, same goes for FPS games.Every fighting games plays completely different, hell even a legendary franchise like Street Fighter were every entry plays different, on top of that you have 2D fighters and 3D ones.Even then, within a fighting game you have up to 30 characters that don't share the same fighting styles, and different archetypes, for example in USF4 you have:>Motion based (Ryu, ken, Akuma)>Charge based (Guile, Balrog, Blanka)>Rekka (Fei Long, Yang, Yun)There is crazy technical stuff, match-ups is one of them.
>>724208734>Getting 1st out of 28 starting in 14th is easy because at least it isnt a 1v1do you hear yourself?
>>724204912racing has fewer transferable skills
>>724211161At no point did I say that racing games are not competitive, the question was which is more competitive, fighting games or racing games. You can't get more raw than fighting games. In my opinion, you can't beat this level of competitiveness when it comes to video game competition.Watch:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UaXhe_XPsU&t=8s
When will racists fans admit cars are destroying the environment?Stop supporting racing games
>>724204912Fighting in racing games, clearly.
>>724213924Crossworlds unironically feels like that kind of game
there is no opponents in real racing, rules prevent you from affecting anybody else.
