I've tried to get into XII so fucking hard. I've played it probably a dozen times at this point. Get deep into it every time, and inevitably drop it. It's on paper my perfect RPG, and I actually love the combat that everyone seems to hate, but my fucking lord the game is so dry. All the voice actors sound like they're asleep, the main party character designs look fucking retarded, the story moves slower than Biden's cancer, there's so many fucking thematically pointless points in the story that just also kill the fucking pacing. I fucking hate this game even though I want to love it because Ivalice is the best thing FF has ever done.

>>724206256i just beat this after dropping it around 1/2 way in when it came out. ff12 sucks. the characters suck, the story sucks, and most of the environments suck, especially later in the game when everything becomes super repetitive and intentionally confusingly designed. the only reason i completed it is because of 4x speed. if it wasn't for 4x speed i would have dropped it almost immediately. oh yeah the only time i ever used magic to attack was when the game forced me to. i just put the game on 4x speed and let my characters attack, then had my white mage cure and heal. i think i died a total of 3 or 4 times to espers lol.
