I'll never understand this mentality. Hit sounds in music games are trash. If it was physically possible to exist, I'd gladly pay double for what I spent on my phoenixwans to have IIDX controllers with totally silent keys. Shit is awful. I want to hear the music. Hitsounds and key clacking is not the fucking music.

The only game this is ever true for is Sound Voltex, but that's because 90% of the tracklist is dogshit.

the keytaps are a reflection of your soul. if you hate listening to them you arent playing well enough
>>
>>724211585
a ton of osu! maps did that for me. There were many good songs I couldn't listen to in a playlist, but actually playing them always made it 10x better. Mostly because of the map flowing well. Like the original ranked image material. I don't want that in a playlist but by god will I play that map over and over.

Try playing a game where the music was developed for specifically the game
Like Rift of the Necrodancer music is still good, but like I listen to Brave the Harvester and it's just missing something. The hit sounds were basically an instrument.

I turn sound effects as low as I can, just barely audible to still hear that I'm pressing a key, but I can't stand when I can't hear the song under so much SFX. You're supposed to be pressing keys at the rhythm of the music, that's supposed to be your queue.

For me, it's more like:
>listen to song from rhythm game
>wish the rhythm game had a playable full version of the song
>>
>listen to ready steady go
>it's just not the same without the "OSSSUUUUU" between the lyrics

Played all the guitar heroes and I don't like any kind of guitar instrument music at all. If anything it made me associate guitar based music with juvenile video games and edgy emo preteens.

To be fair I don't listen to music at all. I listen to audio books during commutes and to podcasts during work

It's just the new brand of autism like bronies or furries. They are harmless despite being disgusting as fuck.

Just ignore them like everyone else already does while giving some disgust glances towards them. I live in a big city with a thriving tech sector so a good 10% of all cafes and other social spots are these abominations. They tend to keep to themselves.
>>
>>724214871
I was really disappointed to find out that the original Jumpin' Jack Flash is basically a different song
>>
>>724213336
Wait for my turn? Rhythm games only give you a few songs per credit.
>>
>>724216497
If you share a queue with two other people, your playtime is cut into a third, which adds up over time in a genre where skill is so heavily correlated with playtime. Also, people commonly feel that they play worse after waiting their turn compared to continuous play. In general, waiting in a queue sucks and is the reason why arcades in asia will have entire rows of the same game.

me with ninja gaiden or any action game recently.
i always turn the music way up and put everything halfway and i still cant hear shit because TV stereo is garbage
>>
>>724216968
They're playing together so they're only occupying one slot in the queue. If you can't wait for people to play 2 or 3 songs before you then buy a taikoforce and stay at home.

I have the opposite problem where now anytime a song starts playing I subconsciously tap along to the beat and look autistic.

what's up with traffic wardens/london met videos on youtube anyways

Sometimes I think about making a chart or two for a rhythm game but I already have so many other things to get to
>>
>>724211585
A lot of rhythm games use covers, too, and that can be a hit or miss.
Best example is Elite Beat Agents (/Ouendan), which, uh, is already said in this thread, ha.

It's like hearing Bloons music without the pops, it's just plain weird.

>used to play a ton of EBA because a friend was into it
>never got to play it THAT much at the time because my DS was starting to go out
>friend and his brother keep playing the final level trying to beat it on higher difficulties, so I end up hearing the song 99999 times
>years later (like a decade prior to now, hahahaaaaa.....), I'm with family at some buffet somewhere
>hear Jumpin' Jack Flash, the original, on the buffet's speakers
>takes me like half the song to recognize it
>pretty much just listen to the whole thing before doing anything else, both because of the confusion factor of the song being different, and because of nostalgia
