Is it weird I think Moneybags is kinda based? It's not like Spyro was struggling to find gems and he was indirectly helping. If he wasn't doing it for money (like if he made Spyro do something for his benefit), he'd basically be an anti-hero, but the money element really bothers people for some reason. Especially as a conversation I just heard confirms he doesn't kidnap any of the jailed animals in Year of the Dragon. Spyro stealing the money back was unironically uncalled for.
