What if Microsoft made their own crossover fighter like Smash? Who would get in?>Hard mode: only characters that originally debuted on Xbox systems (No Banjo, No Crash, No Steve)
>>724236650I wouldn't be a platform fighter, it would be an arena shooter.
>>724238459More likely a hero shooter, arena shooters are a dead genre at this point.
>>724238667I'm just thinking from the perspective of the peak of smash clones back in the brawl era. I agree Hero shooter would be the more fitting so each character can have a dedicated moveset/loadout though, as long as it's not specifically team based like TF2 or Overwatch. Team play would be in separate modes, I think given Microsoft's big IP was Halo at the time, the gameplay would be fairly in line with that game, probably with sprint being introduced in later entries (unfortunately).
>>724239005Makes sense. A hero-based arena shooter might be an interesting idea.As far as roster goes, obviously you've got Chief, maybe Arbiter as well, and then like, Marcus Fenix.Captain Flameheart from Sea of Thieves might be a good pick if we want someone a little more recent.
>>724239447I would like that. I know the hardmode would be no banjo, crash, etc, but I feel like Having Banjo using Kazooie as a gun against more realistic foes is too funny to not go for since he's like the one E rated platformer character who could have a working moveset in that kind of game. Doom Slayer would certainly be in a later entry, there might even be a Fallout rep later on since Bethesda works for MS now. Probably just the sole survivor from 4 or Vault Boy though.

>>724238667>A hero shooter is essentially just a smash bros FPS starring different IPs and integrating their play styles into the gameYou know that actually doesn’t sound so bad to be honest. I would just worry we’d run out of FPS characters, but I suppose we don’t have to limit ourselves do we?
>>724239753I'd be cool with Vault Boy, it'd be sort of a similar case to Banjo where they'd have the goofy mascot character with all the more realistic foes>>724240003Not really, we'd just have to adapt characters to work within a hero shooter framework. Hell, barely anyone actually uses guns in Marvel Rivals, same basic idea
>>724236650Isn't that just killer instinct?
>>724240003No, but if we break OP’s rule you have potential for characters like Alex Mercer, Courier, and Conker.
