Beating an enemy that before took 4 hits in just 2 would be a too clear improvement and fun, and we don't do fun in modern game design. Beating 102 foes in the same time frame that you could only beat 100 before is more reasonable outcome, and prepares you for the disappointments of adult life. Remember the keywords, sustained effort, as you toil towards your distant retirement
