The next Xbox is probably going to end up like the Neo Geo where only themselves and maybe EA and Ubisoft are making games for the thing, but they'll make money by selling games for $150 each to the battered X-wives who won't leave them.
Meanwhile if people actually want 3rd party games they can buy them off Steam where MS doesn't have to support the games or the studios, forcing that work upon Valve further lowering cost but still have access to a large library.
