Monster AI is so fucking obnoxious you stop being scared of it so fucking fast. It finds you anywhere, game is designed for you to die repeatedly just due to RNG or bad coding which makes you lose any fear factor and just makes the game frustrating

Bullets are nearly impossible to find and it takes like 2/3 to scare the Ghoul, which patrols the same tiny areas over and over so sometimes you just have to wait 10 minutes afk wihtout being able to play the game until it goes away and let's you progress.

And don't get me started on how unfun rats are.

I was so excited at first. A horror game set in WW1? For free? I'm really looking forward to the interesting horror aspects they incorporated into the game.

I dropped it when the monster killed me from behind (with my back against the wall) because i tried going somewhere i wasn't supposed to be yet.

I enjoyed the setting and the continued lore that implies all the games are trying together. I find the overarching amnesia story interesting. beyond that I didn't like the game too much. alot of bad decisions that didn't pan out. many of which I think could have been solved if the lighter was not RNG but instead given to the player at the beginning. In both of my play throughs the lighter code was an REALLY fucking stupid locations. when I played it recently it was in the pillbox which not only is hell to get to without the lighter but it's directly after a tutorial on how to make Molotov's and a rat tunnel that is clearly designed to try out the Molotov's that the game just explained to you and gave you a bunch of mats for. a first time player isn't going to understand what the fuck is going on.

For some reason despite the game looking like shit, every section has a loading screen and whenever you go through that checkpoint the monster teleports RIGHT to the area you're in, sometims it's scripted and designed to come out as you arrive in the area (like prison) just so you're forced to fight it or hide for 20 minutes.

you are missing out on using the molotov, the torch, you can pour oil onto the ground to light it on fire burning corpses or rats or setting a barrier. there's also oil coming out of drums at various points you can light on fire. like all the game's mechanics are tied to the lighter. like me your first experience with the game that you only get one of was ruined by that idiotic design decision.
