They are completely different games.

Crash 4 because you have to tap spin in a rhythm to go fast, I gave up because it was actually destroying my wrists. Plus you had to do it twice for every level. Fuck that. I didn't even finish 100%ing Crash 4 and it still took me more time than than 100%ing the entire remake trilogy (including all platinum relics).

crash 1 100% is really easy. The only two roadblocks are not dying and knowing when you can just finish a level without 100%'ing it the first time because it needs a colored gem, if you can do both of those you'll 100% it in less than like 4 hours.

they're all pretty reasonable imo. the only thing that's particularly hard is the plat relics but those are doable too.

You're right, only Crash 4 requires plat relics for 100% completion. it was a bad decision by the devs, should have made it optional like in the older games.

Original crash 1 was hard because dying reset your box count and some levels you couldn't die in or else you'd have to redo them to get the gem
Remake is only hard because crash slips off platforms and ropes unlike in the original, you still keep your box count but you still have to redo the level if you die in certain stages and on top of that they added time trials to the game so you have to speed through levels and hope you don't slip off anything

IAT is hard to 100% not because of actual difficulty but because of how tedious it is.
In the original games you can probably count on one hand the number of levels with over 100 crates, meanwhile in IAT they seem to have at least 100, usually far more. Not to mention lots of those crates are hidden offscreen, and you have to completely levels multiple times for all the special gems
