What made Nintendo the market leader of the gaming industry?
they make games
ps and xbox have no exclusives that would justify a $500 console purchase
>>724250145I can play Splatoon in the middle of the night or early morning no problem which guarantees there's players practically forever as long as the game sells enough, there's some exceptions like Arms probably. Buy any Xbox/Playstation game the game could literally die 2 days after launch, being able to spend money and not have to worry is really underrated in my opinion.
>>724250145They don't chase trends like moviegames and they stick to the type of games they make best.
>>724250145Outside of handhelds, you'd have to go back almost 20 years to find a Nintendo console. You just can't out Game the Boy.

thank you for the twitter screenshot thread saar
>>724250145>Nintendo was the well known name for handhelds, and the PSP just didn't have the same market appeal as the DS>PS3 had a comically bad launch with terrible pricing, awful marketing, and hardware problems>The NES walked into a gaming market that had just been blown out by Atari fucking EVERYTHING up, and the SNES came out after riding on the fact that Nintendo had such a grip on the market that parents called any game console a "Nintendo" even if it wasn't made by them>The PS4 was just a blue colored Xbox One at this point and had no unique selling points like specialized hardware or unique and interesting exclusives>The Switch 2 is still riding Nintendo's mountains of success and good will all the way to the bankThat's how. Both of these twitter posts were made by people looking at sales charts that weren't alive for any of the consoles they're talking about.>Sony killed everyone it's competing withXbox is actively killing itself.Sega had no games and a higher price tag.
