It literally starts (after a short intro fight) with Jack just randomly entering a city, seeing 2 other people with crystals who he has never seen before and says "You have crystals too? I'm Jack and I'm here to kill chaos" and they are all in and instantly become best buddies.And somehow the story kinda works in the end. The gameplay is also fun, its fast paced action RPG with ridiculous amount of classes and you can mix them up. The loot is complete ass, but you can just press auto-equip and it works.

It's not really a game that you play for the story but I ended up growing an attachment to the characters by the end of it and the last missions are pretty emotional. But yeah, if you like action RPGs, then SoP is a must. The build making is stacked towards playing the game on higher difficulties though so you won't get too into that by just playing it once. You don't need to be a diehard FF fan but having some experience with the series might help you enjoy it slightly more. Each mission is themed after an FF game and I enjoyed this motif.

I loved this game so much even though Nioh has better combat. It makes me sad there'll never be another one. This was the last game made by a team that actually likes Final Fantasy since the PS2 days.
