ER vanilla suffered a major downgrade in terms of both atmosphere and boss ost. Apart from the menu theme, which reappears as a leitmotif in the final boss, the rest are fairly forgettable despite their professionalism, as they lack personality.

Nightreing brought back some personality with the hub and especially the boss themes. Almost all, if not all, have their themes divided into three phases, and a greater effort is evident in narrating the personality, characteristics, and concept of the bosses.
