>remake>remaster>remake>remastervideo game corpos ran out of ideas>remake>remaster...
>>724254290Everything that can or would be interesting in a video game format has been made already. Either by legitimate studios or the jeets that use AI to release 5000 trash games a month on steam. There's literally no more video games to make that wouldnt be a rehash of something already existing.
Remakes/remasters are cheap, safe, and easy. We've reached a plateau in graphical fidelity and technology. The games that were popular yesterday were innovative and original at the time or at least captured a niche no one else did, now it's all about maintaining the popularity of existing franchises.
>>724254290cool it with the racism
Meanwhile in this year alone:>Expedition 33>Digimon Time Stranger>Silksong>Donkey Kong Bananza>Hades 2>Vampire the Masquerade 2 (It's dogshit but at least it's OUT)>Dispatch>Blue Prince>Battlefield 6>Split Fiction>b-but I don't like any of those games!Then what DO you like?
>>724254290>game companies are rereleasing good games instead of making shit onesI'm sorry, what's the problem again?
>>724254290more like video game corpos ran out of balls so they only go for the safest reheated dogshit slop possible to get investors on board
>>724254896what if he likes fgs
2010s>PLEASE LET US BUY YOUR OLD GAMES! WE'LL PAY FOR THEM! 2020s>NOOO STOP!! STOP PORTING OLD GAMES!Why the change? They're finally delivering what we were asking for 10 years ago
sexy fucking chibis
>>724254896the only good game of the year isn't even on that list
>>724254290Major publishers are obligate coprophages and will gladly eat their own shit rather than be productive. These would normally collapse under their own weight, but longterm copyright prevents it. Copyright needs to go below 10 years or we'll just keep reheating the same shit over and over instead of actually iterating and subsequently moving on from 20th century culture.
>>724255209To be fair to /v/, I think a decent chunk of people here want the unaltered original versions, not a remake or remaster of them. Many studios did release PC ports of their games on Steam, but delisted them to usher people into buying their remakes/remasters, like Rockstar did with the PS2 GTA games. Not all remakes or remasters are bad, but just playing devil's advocate here, you can't see where they're coming from.
>>724255209this is not what we were asking forat least not in the case of remakesi couldn't imagine what nomura was doing to ff7 in my worst nightmares when they announced they were remaking ff7
>>724255126SF6, DBFZ and GG are still getting support. 2XKO just came out and Marvel Tokon comes out soon.
>>724255524*can
>>724254290There are always ideas but nobody wants to take risk anymore.>>724254613Graphics is one thing but imagination is limitless. The problem is censorship by the so-called righteous.
>>724255424Well don't leave us in suspense
>>724254290No more genders.
>>724255209remasters aren't the old games, and if they were just 1:1 porst then why would I pay to replay them when I can just emulate?remakes can be good and a different experience tho, sadly most shit is a cashgrab nowadays

>>724254896what OP means is that creativity is dead, let's see if that holds up to your picks.>E33fine story, well received, original IP, but gameplay is dull and done many many times before. still a fine game overall. OP was wrong here>digimonanother digimon sequel, OP is right here>silksongwhile popular it's still just a sequel with one or two minor gameplay tidbits added to hollow knight's skeleton. OP was right here>donkey kong bonanzaboring baby game but it's a new take for DK than another country game. OP was wrong here>hades 2sequel, same as silksong. OP was right here>vampiresequel, same as silksong/hades2. OP was right here>dispatchtelltale styled choice game with a thin veil of a management game that's simplified to being a glorified mini game. BUT, it's not based on an existing IP and it does something new with the overused superhero genre. OP was mostly wrong here.>blue princeI've heard of this game once, know nothing about it. neutral>battlefield 6sequel, same as silksong/hades2/vampire. OP was right here>split factionnever heard of it. neutralso excluding the two I dont know of, OP was right five times out of 8. I think that holds up OP's point.>>724255424E33 will have a great chance. remember that game awards has very little to do with gameplay, it's just how hard a game was shilled and whether the gameplay could hold a normalfag's attention without doing anything above pure simplicity.>>724255209goomba fallacy + you know damn well the majority of remakes/ramasters suck ass on both delivering the old experience or raising it higher with modern day tech advances. besides, even if they were quality we're getting way too much all at once so we get fatigued of remakes/remasters faster. it's a lose lose situation, everything new is bogged down by quality and in house politics and old stuff returns in a lesser state despite the ability to make them just as good or better.
>>724255126anon nobody actually likes fighting gamesthe genre is kept alive but boomers that can't let go of the arcade days and esports faggotry
>>724254290You say that as if there hasn't been a flood of remakes/remasters since the 90s.>Dragon Quest 1-4>Final Fantasy 1 and 2>Megaman 1-3>Megami Tensei 1 and 2>Super Mario 1-3>Lunar 1 and 2Like in just the 90s alone theres a lot
