I mostly agree, I wonder what its like for new generations though, especially if they played the shitty 3ds remake.Im replaying it right now with ship of harkinian but it needs the damage multipliers like the OoT version has to actually be difficult. Ill say the OG still had issues mostly related to shitty controls in the Deku palace section.>>724254723aesthetics are so good I dont really mind. Every 3d zelda has a dungeon with awkward mechanics.The NPC sidequests and masks are just, bar none, my favorite experience in gaming, then OoT has a whole, then DS1 first time. But I used a guide as a kid for MM, remember most of the mask quests, and still have to check things like for the postmans hat. Couples mask quest you can mostly figure out if you keep taking a stab at it as the game progresses but still, there are two or three masks that are damn hard to figure out without a guide.The dungeons are all varied enough for me to enjoy them but the real fun comes from all the interactions with the NPCs and I think that makes it an awkward mix for some. If all you did was run the dungeons it would be underwhelming. I think one of the coolest experiences in gaming would be somehow achieveing the fierce diety mask with no prior knowledge it existed. I wonder what percentage of gamers actually pulled that off. what an insane surprise that would be

I just read some article on bloodlines 2 development and how they had to scrap a quest because an NPC told the character not to go up a staircase, which they could do, and so they literally just wandered around without knowing what to do

Not even the best Zelda. Beat out by ALTTP and OoT. I honestly wish they didn't do dungeons for this one and solely focused on the NPC schedule stuff.
