I want to buy a steam deck but do you think steam deck 2 will be released any time soon?
Deck 2 isn't until AMD UDNA and you wont see that until Zen6/PS6.

I would just buy a lightly used steam deck OLED, since it'll probably be at least 3-4 years until the next iteration. Scour Facebook marketplace for deals and make sure to ask for the original steam receipt and a screenshot of the battery health.
Deck was underpowered when it came out and we're years past that now. You won't be able to run new releases

Valve like monolithic chips, not chiplet-based chips.

>>724261849I think Valve wants to use FSR4 or their own open source modification of it. At the very least they need RDNA4 or better because that's when the TOPS when up. Even PS5 Pro isn't using RDNA 3.5 it's some hybrid of 2/3/4 to get each of their strengths.

They need to add frame gen built into gamescope like lossless scaling does, would make it easier to run games at higher fps on the aging hardware. I know it adds input lag but for casual games being played on controller it's not that noticeable.
