Lucy is brought before Augustus (who is directly related to Caesar) because she completely obliges the Legion's views on women due to her old-fashioned Stepford-esque Vault upbringing. She never kicks back against being called a profligate and is treated much more fairly than those who do. Meanwhile Augustus is well educated on Vaults because he secretly spent his time living in one in Arizona, where he was sheltered from the world by Caesar and made to study. Augustus recognizes Lucy is a great asset because of her ability to survive, talk to people and believes she is a vital tool for conquering the remains of Vegas in Caesar's memory. There's a lot of silly scenes where Legion boys fight and die to keep her safe. Lucy is horrified when she learns of their reputation but speaks on their behalf, something Augustus knew she would do and weaponizes. The legionnaires Lucy travels alongside end up liking her enough to rebel against Augustus.

>>724265371If anything I'd say it's main problem is that it's an overcooked faction. Caesar never should have been in New Vegas and their origin and "Philosophy" sure as fuck never should have been explained. He should have remained a mysterious and aloof character you purposefully got conflicting information on. You never should have directly entered the Legion Camp as a free agent, there should have just been Frumentarii missions to fuck up the objectives you're given by other factions. How cool Caesar's Legion appears is inversely proportionate to how much you know about it.
