The people who committed suicide because of the drop in the value of their skin on CS2 shows that in video games there is a volatile market share and games of chance, which means that it must be supervised by institutions and not left in the hands of private companies because it endangers people's lives and we must warn of the danger of certain video games that use games of chance and volatile markets impacting the lives and addiction of certain players; we are touching the resources of the consumer/player: money. So this kind of video game must be supervised by the state or have restrictions and not leave this to children. Awareness campaigns are needed because it can become an addiction like gambling, whether it is skins or loots.

lol get acked
>>
gabe "people call me bad names in dota 2" newell
>>
Gambler get the rope
>>
>people commit RMT and brag about it on steam
wow they're lucky they even get to keep their account. its instant shutdown for any mmo or gaas.
>>
I don't know why we're pretending like life has any value
>>
>>724266013
if you seriously invested your money in cosmetic vidya items you have absolutely nobody to blame but yourself
>>
>>724266013
Lmao imagine killing yourself over this. Maybe if they weren't retards who held onto imaginary money forever they would have some now and not be getting laughed at for being clowns
>>
>>724266013
>Nooooo!
>Why are you cheering that I can't scalp you anymore?!
>I've been trying to sell this digital knife at 3000% profit for 2 weeks what do you MEAN the value is gone???
Fuck em
>>
Who could have ever predicted that dumping thousands on videogame skins wasn't a good idea? Nowhere in Valve's ToS it is stated that they must keep the arbitrary value of skins as is, especially cosidering how the trading and betting market that was built around this whole thing is completely out of control and scummy, good riddance I say.
>>
>>724266013
gabe is a super cool guy. its impossible to hate the man that shows up to every single dota tournament. he even responds to that same tf2 commentary email address to this day.
>>
If you invest your life savings into virtual videogame skins that aren't even insured you're retarded
>>
>>724267054
Rust skins are pretty crazy but it makes sense since they only sell them once.
>>
>>724267192
>>724266790
The whole fucking idea is crazy to me. It's all in steambucks. you can't cash out steam bucks. the moment you do steam closes your account for breaking ToS. there is no long term plan here just all results in bad end.
>>
>>724267293
>It's all in steambucks. you can't cash out steam bucks
Anon, you know how Steam has a trading system? People use the trading system to sell knives for real cash through grey market 3rd party system. The Steam Market is just the official channel where you do that through Steambux, but the people freaking out were the grey market guys.
>>
>>724267293
Imagine how many battle passes, honses and roris you could gamble up and all you have to do is sell a knife every few banners.
>>
>>724267390
are you ASLEEP? did you just wake up from your decade long nap? valve has been closing and fighting third party marketplaces for a long ass time in counter strike, tf2, and dota2. if you deal with outside the steam bucks ecosystem you're getting banned because you're committing RMT.

No, they really haven't. They shut down the most aggressively shady ones but a lot of the major ones like skinclub and cashout.tf, and marketplace.tf have been and will continue to be around.

You really underestimate how long people have been doing this shit. It's been around since they first introduced trading as a TF2-only feature.
>>
>>724266013
how much """work""" can he accomplish after 2 scuba dives and a workout?
>>
>>724266013
This is literally just the Darwin awards, sorry to say it. You're either doing some shady shit like scamming or money laundering if you're putting any significant money in a fucking 3rd party video game cosmetic trading site or you're just incredibly dumb with your money.
>>
or maybe mass immigrantion of cheap 3rd worlders by billionaires took all the real jobs that paid a living.
>>
>>724268820
Anyone who depended a minimum wage job is not someone trading cs:go skins
>>
>>724267501
Anon they could immediately close all those sites within an hour by simply creating a store that sold all the cosmetics with a price of like $50.

You'd still have rolling and trading, but now ever item has a price ceiling. All the gamblers kill themselves and the world is at peace.
>>
>>724269239
Why do think they pay minimum now retard? Do you really believe boomers "worked hard"?
>>
>>724269239
You are not skilled. You are delusional.
>>
>>724266013
I wish I invested into CS2 knives and then sold all my knives.
>>
>>724266013
What did he do the knives that made them lose value?
>>

>sitting out in international waters knowing full well that BRs and chinks can't swim let alone maintain an armed flotilla long enough to reach him
Devilish

sorry for my missleading title
>>
>>724270093
By the time those jobs were paying minimum wage,.CS:GO gambling wasn't even a thing.
This is not a thing honest men do out of desperation because they don't have a job. This is a thing retards with disposable money and/or someone to feed and clothe them do.

You are very reasonable OP but you see: /v/ermin here are anti freedom, pro censorship, pro corpo bootlicks so they'll resist any sort of thing that may harm this underage gambling business of Valve until eventually they get regulated and everyone forgets about all this crap and pretends valve never even invented mann co crates.

He's the CEO, any meeting he takes, conversation he has or decision he has to make is work (technically speaking). Yes it's not a lot of work or hard work, but it's work. That's why he can say I work 7 days a week - just speak with someone on nay day and it's 'work' lol
But considering a bad decision can cost you 10's of millions (which he needs to service his fleet of ships) those are all very important meetings/decisions.

Being a private entity means that when he fucks up it's on him. Rather than some little rat whispering sweet nothings into his ear.
>>
>>724266013
What's Gabe's workout routine?

or people that don't live in the middle of nowhere, where few brown people go.
>>
>>724273448
10 reps of fucking your mom
>>
>>724270363
Namely he made the skins easier to get which has absolutely buttfucked the CS2 Economy by affecting the rarity of goods, this means skins that were very valuable are now far less valuable.

In the grand, dizzying theater of human behavior, you somehow manage to occupy the darkest, most sordid corner, embodying the very definition of degeneracy with every lurid impulse and shameless act that escapes your unfiltered conscience. Your demeanor radiates the moral decay of someone long divorced from decency, a walking embodiment of depravity masquerading as a sentient being. It is as though the universe, in a moment of disturbingly ironic humor, decided to compact every trace of baseless desire, leering curiosity, and disgraceful self-indulgence into one thoroughly contemptible individual, yourself. You do not merely flirt with perversion; you have made it your permanent address, adorning your life with the kind of grotesque impulses that would make even the most morally bankrupt soul recoil. In every way conceivable, you have elevated sleaze into a personal philosophy, a guiding principle through which you continually erode the already fragile barrier between humanity and the abyss of unrestrained moral collapse.
>>
>>724275618
He follows that with another 5 reps of fucking your dad.
>>
>>724275730
So you're saying the weight loss is from AIDS, then?
>>
>>724276164
Sorry to hear about your dad bro.
>>
>>724275730
You move through life like someone completely detached from decency, proud of how far you have strayed from what anyone would call normal. There is something rotten in your thinking, a warped pleasure in seeing boundaries crossed and values twisted until they no longer resemble anything human. Every conversation with you feels like wading through murky water filled with fragments of a mind that has lost its way. You wear your corruption like a trophy, confusing shock value for intelligence and perversion for freedom. The truth is simpler and uglier; you are a degenerate in every sense, someone whose moral compass has spun so wildly that right and wrong are indistinguishable. Behind your smug grin and hollow bravado, there is only emptiness, the kind that festers when a person becomes truly, irreversibly messed up in the head.
>>
>>724266013
by workout he means take big pharma drugs
>>
>>724276216
Fuck him, fag deserves it. I'm more concerned about Gabe, getting AIDS from Pops and herpes from Mom, and you know his eyesight's gotta be going if he could stay hard in the face of that mess. Still, pretty funny that gamblers never seem to realize that gambling involves the risk of losing the money you bet. Maybe they could buy some crypto while the price is up, sell it when it drops, that should help them recover their losses.
>>
>>724276468
I ain't reading all that, but I'm sorry that happened to you. Maybe find someone else who's been diddled and you can murder each other's priest or football coach, get your revenge and make a friend at the same time.

CS2 skins is not a financial market. Third parties bypassing the rules and making it into one isn't valve's problem.

Now that he's out of any office, what does gabe actually do? Just yes/no things, ideas guy your leads, and decide what company to buy next or what your next yacht should look like?

You keep laughing at your own jokes like the air owes you applause, but the silence after every punchline stretches so long it starts to rot. The walls don’t laugh, the lights don’t flicker in amusement, even the dust in the corners looks bored. You keep repeating the same line, waiting for the world to crack a smile, but it just stares back, blank and humming. Every word you drop hits the floor with a wet thud, another failed prophecy of humor. You’re not funny, you’re a static channel pretending to broadcast joy while the signal dies out behind your eyes.
>>
>>724277226
That would actually explain it. Brain is fried.
>>
>>724277352
