Eventually in like 20 years when you have something like starlink providing high speed internet to the entirety of the globe and the phone companies are forced to lay new cable absolutely fucking everywhere to compete or perish, you'll have full on game streaming available on any TV or other internet connected device and consoles will truly be dead or relegated to a niche collector thing.

Sony has skin in the game since it would drive people to their consoles, all that third companies get are a couple million they don't even make back and then they either have to go through a second marketing cycle for their later release on PC or hope word of mouth carries them.
