>Does Nothing
>Wins the Console Wars
>>
Literally who?
>>
>>724271612
Nobody won because nobody plays consoles anymore. Xbox is dead, PS5 is on life support, and the Switch and Steam Deck are barely even consoles.
>>
They've been the extra supplementary console since 2006 (arguably 1996 depending on who you ask).
>>
>>724271612
>>Does Nothing
They won because of the blue ocean strategy Iwata had and lateral thinking with withered technology philosophy Gunpei Yokoi had.
It bit them in the ass a lot during the Wii U when they had to play catch-up with HD development but they rebounded hard with the Switch.
Nintendo's biggest advantage however isn't just their IPs but rather how they're structured.
The way EPD is made up is something most publishers would kill to have.
>>
>>724271612
The only people who won were the stockholders.
>>
>>724271612
>>Does Nothing
>>Wins the Console Wars
Because they understand the console gaming market unlike xbox or playstation.
Creating Traditional consoles with first parties exclusives.
That's all you have to do.
>>
>>724272075
>Creating Traditional consoles with first parties exclusives.
Nintendo's not traditional
They prioritized new features over raw power increases
>>
Everyone knows PC will win in the end anyway
>>

>Nintendo's not traditional

Hello that's how it's always been performance was always a means to new features rather than what happened in the 2000s.
>>
>>724272195
>Everyone knows PC will win in the end anyway
Trusted computing blocks your path. Soon that PC will be effectively a console just like mobile.
>Soon
It's already happening.

no, it's just the IPs. their "development structure" means nothing for movies and theme parks and toys, which are also making them a shit load of money.

Consoles are dying. Nintendo's just the last loser, and even then that's generous since the ps5 is supposedly doing better globally.
The real winner by doing nothing is obviously pc.
>>
>>724271723
>>724272195
Let it go. PC gaming will never replace consoles
>>
>>724272603
Already is. Surpassed consoles years ago. PC grows, consoles stagnated and declined over the past 15 years.
>>
>>724272569

Their structure is literally what makes these games even come out period

PC marketshare has been declining since 2018, only hyperautists or third worlders are left

Dilate
>>
>>724272570
>the investors get bank
Why is this important again?
>>
>>724272816
PC has objectively outpaced consoles and continues to grow year over year. Mobile isn't real gaming, but if you want to drag that in it also crushes consoles.
>>
>>724271612
Making video games isn't exactly "doing nothing".
It's the only thing that matters here and the reason they won.
>>
>>724272850
PC only "declines in share" because a third worlder got a phone, these things are not really in competition. There are more PC gamers than ever.
>>
>>724272850
Steam alone gets way more active users in a month than nintendo gets in a year, but keep huffing that copium. Console userbase has done nothing but decline over the past 15 years, they only keep their revenue up because they screw their remaining audience that much harder to make up for it.

You are dumb. "Blue ocean strategy" died with Wii and DS. Do you even know what blue ocean strategy means? It's trying to appeal to new demographics like non-gamers and older people. It failed so bad with Wii U and 3DS that Nintendo went back to appealing to young gaming adults with Switch and Switch 2.
"Lateral thinking with withered technology" also isn't applicable as Switch was the most powerful portable when it launched and witch Switch 2 Nintendo together with Nvidia designed a brand new SoC that's the most advanced portable gaming SoC in terms of features to the point of beats $1000 handheld PCs

Extreme doubt. I built up a 2,500 game steam library for a fraction of the cost of my 30 year 100 game console library in a fraction of the time. And that's not counting all the other games I have on PC.
>>
>>724274025
What rebuttal do I need? Revenue is money made before costs are accounted for. They could have spend 62 billion dollars to make 31 billion dollars.

It literally means nothing. It's just a cope by a slowly dying company.

Yeah. Games are super cheap on pc. You could get that bamham collection with 7 other wb games for $10 while only 3 of them cost you $60 and play far worse on the switch.

You're just using copium to delude yourself into thinking Nintendo is bigger than Playstation yet more developers and consumers choose Playstation

And thats why the AAA PC exclusive market died, PC now is just third worlders buying old games at bargain bin prices

meaningless metric when making an account is free/botted. PC's biggest growth in the last decade was due to China, a region that's going jap-mode by becoming phone addicts

I like how you conveniently ignore the 4 percent decline in console games while trying to make a big deal out of the 0.2 percent decline in PC
>>
>>724276912
It also ignores that all the big payers on pc are private and we have no clue what their revenue is, it's all guesswork. That and revenue does not translate to users or games, only what you're extracting out of them. So simply charging people an arm and a leg is going to inflate it.

First of all, when you have 3 times the revenue of the other guy, they are more likely to go out of business then you are. You can also just look this up and see that your wrong

>That and revenue does not translate to users or games

Steam has grown by leaps and bounds. No console has 175M monthly active users. You have to be completely out of touch if you think Consoles are thriving while PC is dying. Console's peaked in the 7th generation and its been down ever since. The fact that Sony is making more money then they've ever had while putting their games on PC should tell you everything you need to know about the market.

Oh, and Nintendo's best year in terms of sales (as in people buying stuff) was FYE 3/31/09 w/ 1.83T Yen. Nintendo has never beaten that year and Switch's profits are entirely due to improving margins with the Switch being 8 years old and the cost of the games already amortized. That is pretty much dead with Switch 2 especially if the Yen is 150 to the dollar. Their margins are going to decline along with their profits and investors will demand they add their games to Steam just like they wanted them to make mobile games.
>>
>>724276912
look up the marketshare from 2018 then realize you are a drooling retard
>>
>>724277987
>look up the market share from nearly 8 years ago
Why?
>>
>>724278094
Cause its been going down for 8 years which was the entire point if you could read
