This was both the best and the worst thing to ever happen to the Smash Bros franchise.
It’s only cool if the Japanese do it because they actually add the character in with their own moveset. It’s a proper collab. They’re not just stupid fucking skins. Netherrealms Divorced Dad games are probably the only westerners that do collabs well
Explain what's wrong with 3rd party smash characters without mentioning the word bloat/dev time or complaining about other people online

Sonic is a worthy addition considering his long standing rivalry with Mario and eventual migration to Nintendo consoles.Snake had no real reason to be there. His only notable game on a Nintendo console was Twin Snakes, which itself was a remake of a PS1 game. The two NES games were both ports. Snake didn't belong on the Smash roster in my opinion, though at least he's slightly more fitting than adding fucking Cloud and Sephiroth who have absolutely zero affiliation with Nintendo outside of a single port.
