I like the gameplay but
everything else is quite mediocre

I like the gameplay and the design of the mission areas. They should've leaned more into weather effects, I loved the cozy rain vibes when walking around the neighborhoods at night.

I got around 200 hours from it before I got bored. It's worth to get if you can grab it on sale for a couple of bucks.
>>
Yeah.

The Division V

Travel by hoverbike, something like as seen in Perfect Dark.

Through farms, around a town, though can take road trips to cities, DLC later.
Bike powered by water. Stick near rivers, but service stations on road trips.

Lots of sparse stuff, towns, even just houses, or one. See some communities. people doing their own thing. Different.

Wear a flight mask just in case. Some facilities very protected, where it can come off. Can on the road, by yourself, but should reduce chances to infection and suffocation to nil when with others.

Whats the cheapest but most complete way to play both games? (Not counting on discounts).
Each have 2 or 3 different versions that have some expansions but are mission some expansions, and I'm getting confused on whats a scam attempt and whats genuinely the game (i don't care about cosmetic stuff or extra guns, only expansions).
>Also
Can i make my guy look like a Ghost team member?
>>
Can go VERY fast. Near rivers. Guaranteed fuel can spend more of it (no pollution), and refuel quickly, where you run out having gone full speed something made interesting by the game. Like a person, scene, something.

Need to keep things from killing eachother. Good weapons, Crye MR-C, Steyr AUG XS Commando.
You distribute tools so they can't get lost and to call you/eachother. You lead by example or when there is a problem they can't handle.

Sometimes it's a big problem. Rocket launchers, that split rockets to missiles as seen at the start of Spawn. Going to all targets, but hold a button to keep them together so what is hit gets the most damage. If you think you'll miss, release and the missiles change course to hit what they can.

Shoot rocket for drones etc. Preempt, go by feeling.

EOtech for guns. Sheilded, as seen in Killzone 2.

Trigger press degree by how much damage shots need to do. Can witch so less pull is more damage, or vice versa.

In first person mode every shot does 100% of the damage it needs to. But you are venerable to hits, which each do 50% of your health. Shot once is time to immediately switch back to 3rd person and get the fuck out of there.

Double press aim to switch from 3rd to 1st person.
In 1st person every shot on target gives you 100% health that is returned when going to 3rd person. Bank health. Can bank without limit. Multiplayer players surprised by how much you can take, having banked more than them. Their harrasing players prevented by that by them easy killed. Who shot first gets no reward, who shoots back gets all the health the other lost if downing them.

Objective to stop threats, stop things hurting & killing eachother.
iF YOu KILL any you lose all the health you banked.

Some health required to withstand large threats and effect aid.
Can give banked health to other players, some maybe too to what is saved and stopped. Increase the chances so they don't need help again or soon. So you can save others.

Coolest synergy between gunplay, magic abilities (i.e. SHD skills), role delegation and cover shootan in any current vidya. It's like playing a 3ps XCOM in real-time when in a co-op group. And since the player base still is pretty big and the matchmaking quite excellent you can find groups for basically all activities in the game in next to no time.

Division 1 dlc is just multiplayer modes. Division 2 has warlords of new York dlc which adds a whole new map in new York and several missions and side quests with around 30hrs of gameplay. The other dlc is called Crossroads which adds another map in Brooklyn, not sure how much gameplay hrs it has but there are several new missions and side quests.

Both are like $15 or just get the gold edition which includes the dlc.
>>
I started with just the base game in June after Battle for Brooklyn came out and thought everything was great,
but I overdid it during the summer XP boost event and burnt myself out.
It reminded me that I shouldn't treat this game the same way most people treat it - a cookie-clicker/spreadsheet simulator.

All content is free apart from the dlc? You don't even need the dlc for the seasonal content either. Division 2 is consumer friendly to be fair, it does have season passes but if only gives cosmetic items and extra XP.

The environment and area design are top 5 all time in gaming. It's the only cover shooter I can think of where the cover is 100% believable, rather than "we put a bunch of waist-high partitions in every combat room, gears of war style." Ubisoft really does have the best level artists in the industry, and the designers worked really hard in this one.

It's all the Massive studio (that I honestly don't even know if Ubi owns? more like subcontracting). They're master craftsmen in everything they do, but unortunately they're also kinda slow on content updates. Far from as glacial as their countrymen (((Fatshark))) but you only get content updates in season changes, every third month.
But yeah, the game looks fucking stellar. Especially considering how old it is.

Seems like a (You) problem: A couple of buddies bought it out of nowhere this summer because they wanted a co-op game, so I joined in to replay it for the first time since ~late 2016. One of the main things that struck me was how challenging the game actually was, even when playing through the story mode level-up campaign. Our group wiped several times and had to employ real goddamn OPR8R tactics to try to cheese through some of the mission end fights.
It was actually pretty refreshing to have a game grit your teeth.

Yes and no. Level cap is 40 so from 1-39 it's pretty much a ghost town, but if you skip to 40 or once you get to 40 there's plenty of people playing. You can set it so your lobby is public and people will just drop in while you're in the open world or you can specifically matchmake for stuff.

Everyone's been max level'd for the past 5+ years, so you'll have no luck trying to matchmake the missions that the campaign consists of. But! Fortunately Massive's done a pretty good job with the multiplayer/co-op element of the game so even forever alone you can send up a flare and call for help (command in the SHD tab of the map). This will alert other players "an agent needs assistance" and will load into your world instance for some co-op. This 'Shepherd' system works by giving the assisted player, i.e. (You), a popup after shepherds have completed a major objective, or enough xp if just running around cleaning up central D.C.
ACTIVATE THIS POPUP! Nothing is as fucking thankless as spending tons of time helping people that just suddenly leave the group... High-lvl players will often drop some 40-lvl loot to poor low-lvl newbies, that can be sold for some decent cash which enables you buy up-to-date gear at vendors (the gear starts scaling something fierce past lvl ~20 and needs to be changed basically every other lvl).
'Open Group' that >>724314309 mentioned is also a neat solution: ESC menu->Social menu->clicking the group bar above the names of party members

I'd say the game truly comes into its own when playing with other people, so if you've got an acquaintance willing to tag along on the sale that is truly recommended: It's most fun to discover and explore the game along with someone you can talk to, and holy fuck there's a lot to explore. I STILL find shit I've never seen before in some random back alley, after playing the game for 7+ years...

As someone with about 1200 hours in the game, I don't think it is any more. With them reworking how the DLCs work so they aren't mandatory for endgame any more I think you're better off getting the base game, and if you like it, getting the DLCs on sale later on down the line.

Ult Edition has the Year One pass, doesn't it? That's the only way to access the Classified Missions now, since (((Jewbisoft))) removed that as a buyable dlc... CMs are pretty neat and have a lot of extra content.
>>
>>724281367
Gameplay is fine, but typical Ubisoft jank. Some of the maps and locations are actually nice and I do like some of the missions. The thing that irritates me the most about this game is the amount of woman enemies. The game tries really hard to make them badass but its hard to take them seriously when the fodder just rushes in a straight line and the boss ones have extremely cringe dialogue. Which reminds me that it feels like a lot of sound files are missing because a lot of animations (especially emotes) are silent.
>>
>>724316658
Come on dude, when's the last time you actually played a classified mission? Yeah they're cool and everything but you're gonna play them once and then never touch them again.

I had a lot of fun with this some years ago until I hit endgame and queued up for a raid, only to discover everyone is too retarded to learn raid mechanics to get anywhere.
It's decent in a dungeon equivalent until you get to a mechanics-heavy boss fight but playing this solo only gets you so far. The thought of joining a clan of bros in this game sounded awful.

You'll easily get 40-100 hours out of the 7 dollarydoos base game, so hardly any mistakes made. The game is pretty fun with an ok gameplay even on your own but it doesn't get too exciting until you reach the Invasion part of the campaign or become able to play on higher difficulties: McGyvering your own build with what you have available is part of the charm.
Once you reach lvl 40 you can freely matchmake with other players (everyone's running missions on Heroic), there's a matchmaking tab on the map where you can group for special activities.

True Sons: Literal traitors lead by a corporal
Outcasts: Rightfully aggrieved people who took things wayyyyyy too far

Rikers: Hardened criminals, not much to say about this

500h here. I enjoyed it. I haven't played in a very long time and haven't touched Brooklyn. But I still think about it and it's the only reason I keep jewbisoft launcher installed.
I like the loot system, especially targeted loot. Making a build is pretty easy and you can get semblance of what you're going for pretty easy. Gear "refining" and "tuning" could use a tweak I say, cuz otherwise it's a lot of shit to sift thru before you get something that fits.
"Dungeons" are pretty good, but lack variety and might be a chore on repeated replays.
As an anti-social tard, I've never touched a raid or an incursion (raid "complexity" but for small team). Same goes for PvP. Few times that I tried DZ I got absolutely dunked on by people who took no damage and OHKO'd me in an instant. And regular PvP seems unnecessary.
One thing I want note: try setting women enemies on fire. True Sons grenadiers are all female and their purses are always exposed so yeah. It's not that I get off to it, but it tickles me just right.
Also yeah, anime division fucking when? I guess the best we can hope for is chink shit. Maybe they can steal some talent and use all that gacha money like nigge dudes did with Stallar Blade.

I got the idea from the Hollywood Global Event: Blowing literally everything the fuck up with the flamethrower, and realized I didn't really need the skill tiers on the Eclipse Protocol gear set... All damage comes from the spec wep DoT, and it melts everything in seconds even in Heroic 4-mans (elites might survive with a sliver of health) and the spec ammo fills up faster than you can spend it. The only weaknesses are robots and heavies and the shield tanks the first one... while giving me at least time to soften up the second one.
>>
>>724333575
Fair enough then. I remember being at max level and appreciating that the shotguns could pretty decently pop the world enemies at close distance in one or two hits, I paired it up with the flamethrower.
I might get it then. If nothing else I liked 2 as a "wandering around DC shooting people" simulator, the parties taking or holding control points in the open world were fun.

As >>724333575 said, Shotguns aren't a super strong weapon category: Slow RoF and inaccurate to the point of being unreliable. Scorpio used to be basically the only useable shotty in the game, but they've managed somewhat of a redemption arc for shotties in the past ~18 months. Scorpio is still great, XBAWKS-HUEG damage and crowd controlling everything in the game but its 3 minute reload has made it a more balanced weapon. Like Glue and Thorn actually do pretty good damage and there are a couple of autoshotties with alright talents.
Most people do prefer full auto weapons that hit where you aim and isn't reliant on being within 15 meters to the target though.

>the second one is set in the summer
Then whats the point? It looks like every other shooter except they added film grain to cover up the shit art direction

TF2 called. It told you tourists to stop trying to get up on your shortbus high horses on a Mongolian basket weaving forum for CP.

It's been half a year since the outbreak, so the visuals and atmosphere are more post-fall of society rather than an ongoing apocalypse. No mountains of bodybags but you can find literal buildings of stacks of plastic coffins meant to be put into mass graves in a few of the parks and DZs.

These last DZ locations were fucking peak.
>>
>>724339585
in some places yeah
>>
There should be a prequel set during the initial outbreaks running through the gradual collapse of society, a Year Zero if you will.

I can't remember now if it was an ECHO in 1 or WONY, but there's one where a first wave agent is under attack in an unwinnable engagement but if he retreats he'll be branded as rogue because it goes against his orders. It's Ubisoft's fault for locking that shit behind some completely random ECHO in a house, but I never understood why people single out Divsion for glorifying the idea of spooks doing whatever they want when the games explicitly show they have to work with existing goverment and civilians or else they get branded as rogue and in fact they don't have ENOUGH freedom which is why the first wave in Manhattan failed

Lol there is no film grain in the game kid, try watching an actual gameplay vid instead of a 7 year old magazine image that has been degraded 10 times. The map is great because it's practically a 1:1 reproduction of DC.

Fuck it. I'll get both games with all the dlc. I hate giving money to Ubioft, but this thread is hyping me up

Is this worth playing at in single player? I'm looking for something low investment and a looter shooter that isn't called borderlands sounds just about right.

>Is this worth playing at in single player?
I put a good 30 hours into the single player so I would say yeah.

On top of having their own gadgets. They don't just scramble your shit, they hack you shit. Fucking diamond, I swear. I hope ANNA is stronker.
Same goes for full red. Like, what the fuck? Game really wants you to go blue if you go solo.
