They couldn't have any hope when the boomers refuse to accept that the future they wanted is now the past. That's what happens in real life too except it's way worse and they know they're taking away their childrens' futures but they're too obsessed with comfort to care. Anyway if the kids decide they want their own kingdom later that's not a problem. His sacrifice was to give them a future where they can do anything they want. He's not going to say they're not allowed to make a new Hyrule, that would defeat the purpose. Keep in mind that Wind Waker was in 2002 and Spirit Tracks in 2009. At that point, the backlash settled in, Twilight Princess was the killer app that revived Zelda and whatever message Wind Waker had was quietly ignored and buried. If that Hyrule was named something else, I'd definitely be down for it. The fact that they continued that storyline with PH and ST was a surprise for me. I wanted another game even further in that continuity with actual cities and a subway/metropolitan area. Maybe do what Codename STEAM did and go full steampunk with airships and zeppelins.

The new demon king is just the next incarnation of it. Nintendo will probably never have the curse be broken because it makes it harder to justify more games.
