The way Majima carried 0 was a bit unexpected, they had to make him a much more deep character than the comic relief he spends most of the other games being. Majima could carry a game on own, we have proof of that, but it would still end up the same way once they try to replace him with someone else.The new protag, I don't even remember his name, just does not have the charm needed to keep the series going.

When he finds out Kazama killed their parents he blows up instead of trusting him.
