They have two choices opt out of their current job, or not receive any assignments or payments and be forbidden from stepping foot on company property but the job is still theirs as long as they don't claim it is to anyone. Completely voluntary.

all this really means is the teams that made outlaws and avatar are getting folded back into the division (cause division still has 3 indev projects+2's next dlc), not NECESSARILY layoffs, but yeah the terms will probably be severely cut pay, and most will opt to resign instead so ubisoft doesn't have to pay unemployment lmao
