I always liked the robot designs, and I like the concept of a robotic species infiltrating by mimicking tech but I always thought it was weird for to be so widespread on Cybertron itself instead if a sort of niche technology they applied on earth to blend in.

The autobots, being respectful of their status as being aliens on another planet, would do what they could to minimize energy consumption so they stopped flying in later episodes and rolled everywhere.
