I honestly thought it was just hatred for the game I was feeling. When I eventually beat him my mind didn't press the final hit needed (to kill the worm inside, I thought it was a cutscene) so I thought there was ANOTHER phase to this awful boss and with no health nor items left I pretty much gave up then and there but somehow my body reacted to his swing and I deflected two hits without thinking and killed him properly. After that I put the controller down, stood up and went to the toilet and vomited for 10 seconds straight. Still one of the best Fromsoft games I've played and it took me until beating the final boss to see.
