>>724301994UMPC implies UM, ultra mobile. they are *not* ultra mobile right now. they're bigger than a switch 1 almost universally, which is (rightly) considered the top end for what's truly portable. pc handhelds like steam deck, legion go, rog ally etc are all fucking massive chunks with shitty battery life and middling ergonomics (except for the deck, which i haven't heard anyone not deformed complain about). also, did i mention price? high hundreds to thousand dollars, again excepting deck because valve can afford to run a loss leader and make it up on the back end with more games sold. lenovo and asus are too pussy to try that model because they know they'll never outcompete switch 2, which somehow got lumped in as a market despite being totally different in terms of design intention and software/OS.when we get a UMPC, just slightly larger than an RP5, 6h battery life for even demanding games, running or able to run steamOS *and* ergonomics of a Vita *and* sub $750 price point, there will be something to talk about. honestly, the easiest way to get there would be an ARM gaming phone SoC that can dual boot like an RP5.
