I went through the first three games over the past year and I just got the second collection, did the part with young Lara in IV. I tried some of them out as a kid but this is the first time I've sat down and played them through in full.

I didn't have the best experience wih them on PS1, it was too hard to understand where to go. They were among the first 3D games I had played and didn't have simple movement and level design like Crash or Spyro. I never really thought to give them another chance until the first remastered collection was announced and I really appreciate now. I consider TR1 in particular to be a masterpiece.

yeah, that seems to be a common complaint... the level design can be pretty nuts at times

the physics in underworld is so odd
even in the first underwater temple level there's a physics-based puzzle and if you have physx or something turned on, it glitches out and you can't beat the puzzle
