havent played a mainline pokemon game (played the tcg games though) since gameboy but im playing this right now and its pretty fun. my team is around level 70 and i think im nearing the end of the story and ive liked it quite a lot. the setting is quite bland and its gotten a bit repetitive looking at the same scenery the whole time but other than that, its surprisingly well put together. battle system is simple and fun but there is a bit of depth if youre really looking for it. garchomp just kills everything for free btw. use him.

>>724314021OK here goes:- interesting story for Pokemon standards, as well as the characters.- "gyms" are no longer a one and done but you spend an entire story chapter with the faction and characters around it- The main legendary actually has maximum story relevance now- It's a nice way to put a bow around the story of XY which was always kind of unfinished- retains the fun catching mechanic of Legends Arceus- new combat system is quick and snappy- new combat system makes Singleplayer far more challenging than normal- new system means things like sightlines and terrain somewhat matter, even Pokemon size now matters (the larger they are the further reaching their hits, but the easier they are to hit themselves and they may even be so large they completely overshoot the target)- it also means you can't just spam the same attack over and over to win with zero opposition because it may be on cooldown- Pokemon ganging up to you is now a real threat (fucking wild zone 17 battle gulag) that can even take out an entire team outleveling them- Plus moves are a great way to empower Pokemon that don't have Megas- In fact using rechargable super energy would be a great way to unify Megas, Z-Moves, Dynamax and Terastelization- I like most of the new Megas, the only real stinker is Mega Pyroar- Getting shinies is super easy (though that is more an unintended convenience thing)- First time I actually engaged in Multiplayer because it is actually somewhat more of a party game now and not a complete sweatfest- I like how it highlights wild Pokemon living in human environments, best scene in wild Pokemon spawns outside of wild zones, like Trubbish spawning near dumpsters, or rain making Goomies emerge from the Sewers (normally live in the Sewers).- Catch, train, evolve gameplay loop remains as satisfying as ever- Love to do the ZA Royale just to see how much money I can make in a single night (record is 250k so far).
