Modern character creators are dumb. No one is invested yet, no one understands what choices such as tattoos or jewellery mean in the game's culture, you don't even know what an average character looks like to decide whether yours needs to stand out or not. Worst yet, players spend an hour or longer before they played anything. Modern character creators are also overwhelming, they know it, too, because they all feature a simple and advanced option now. Who the fuck needs to adjust the size of their lips down to the milimeter? Pic related, similar systems are ideal. It's a bunch of presets that you can mix to your taste. It's quick, practical and creates something that is unique, you can still be a funny ugly guy if you want.

i just select the normal template and maybe just change the the hair

I hate character creation too. When I was a kid, the character creation screen looked like this. Why should I have to make a character? They should make a bunch of characters, and I'll pick one.

>go to create character
>fiddle with all the settings
>create something appreciable
>give it a name
>enter game
>discover after several hours of gameplay that every single member of your chosen race has a very specific naming scheme based on their gender and subrace
>you called yourself Shartface McSweeney
>have to start a new character out of shame

Why are you going on a roleplay server and trying to roleplay when you know absolutely nothing about the world or the races that inhabit it? Be a fan of the warcraft lore first

Veilguard (yes I know) had the most retardedly complex character creator I've ever seen
They even had pic related for head shapes and it's like holy fuck, no one is that autistic to try out every combination of 3 heads (literally 4,060 possible combinations) and find the one point out of an infinite number of points within the triangle that looks perfect
Fuck off with these gay triangles and sliders

Ah yes, "roleplaying" in World of Warcraft. I wonder which Clan my Orc Warrior should belong to. The Burning Blade? Blackrock? Bleeding Hollow? Dragonmaw? So many options to choose from...

Oh wait. All of these clans don't exist in World of Warcraft or at hostile. You aren't able to choose a Clan, because there is only Thrall's Globo Homo Cosmopolitan Clan. Frostwolves are treated like Jews under Christianity and can just keep their own exclusive ethno-state going. The Warsong? Blizzard didn't even bother giving them a Chieftain after Grom died (for our sins).

What the fuck are you talking about? You just slide the point across the triangle and go into the direction you prefer you character to look and then you eyeball it, until it's right.
Almost every single modern character creation system has something where you can make big general changes roughly and then finetune it under advanced options.

>make character look like myself because I'm not fuck ugly

I just make all my characters look like me, or as close as possible. Even if I play non-human or non-mammal species.
